Oh Dear – Mark Levin Credibility Melts Like Glenn Beck Tears (tr)
The Last Refuge ^ | January 21, 2016 | sundance

Posted on 01/22/2016 4:08:30 AM PST by monkapotamus

There's something initially angering that becomes very sad when a fraud is revealed.  Tonight on his radio show Mark Levin was forced to admit the son of his fiancee is a full time staffer for Senator Ted Cruz.

After spending weeks attacking anyone who critiques candidate Ted Cruz, the motives of Mark Levin now take full sunlight.   He should be ashamed, VERY ashamed.

No, Mr. crony-constitutionalist, lying by omission is not the least bit funny.  Nor is deception toward your audience when you do not disclose your own conflicts.   Especially when we consider the hours Levin spends railing against the internecine family associations like George Will and his wife working for Scott Walker.

Crony politics is apparently alive and well amid the Mark Levin radio show. Perhaps he will tell the audience how much advertising money he takes from political campaigns?  Or more specifically entities with a vested interest in political campaigns?

Think he'll fess up now that he's busted?

Nah, me neither.

He's got another book to sell...

Wow. Just Wow.

The campaign of Donald Trump continues to expose the "Decepticons".

Were you one of the ones that decried George Will and his relative who worked for Walker’s campaign?

What if it was Walker’s staff?

Same principle.

Have you taken a look around this site today?

There has to be at least a dozen redstate threads all devoted to the hate Trump drum beat.

Talk about unleashing the flying monkeys! They don’t even contain facts per say, it’s primarily opinion all devoted to the sheer disdain they hold. I’m guessing you’re enjoying them as it appears you have your hate on as well.

Look, the Levin thing is valid - you can’t knock that little twerp George Will for shilling over Walker and then act like Levin’s association has no merit. It does and if you were being fair and honest, you’d acknowledge that reality.

I couldn’t care less, but to know the truth helps keep things in perspective, I’m hoping that resonates with you.
Do I think it swayed Levin? No really. Do I think his listeners should be informed of this? Yes, I do.

But you can flood threads with your anti-Trump screeds and make sure to include your delightful language of how lost ‘trumpees/trumpsters/trumpettes/et al, are, because THAT is the way to win people over to your side of seeing things.

Cruz started the war with Trump (and Carson) when he said both were challenged by judgement and temperment to have their finger on the "button". Now Cruz has declared total war and is viciously attacking anything and everything standing between him and the presidency. He is attacking Trump with flat out lies about eminent domain, he is attacking Palin and he is even attacking our constitution, since he knows damn well the founders would have not even considered Cruz a US citizen. He claim to be a natural born citizen is totally bogus.

Cruz is getting damn close to getting put on "never vote for" list. A few more lies out of him will do it.

I very much doubt it, it is not something I recall Decrying Will for anything).

Being a staffer and a campaign worker are totally different. The Presidential campaign worker is actively working a beat to get someone elected president, the senate staffer is gophering for the senator. Sure, both positions can have some influence - albeit not the same influence.

Was the soon to be son-in-law a staffer for Senator Cruz prior to Levin meeting his fiancee?

What is the conflict here and what impact does it have on anything?

Your argument is basically everybody is a crook, so therefore let's elect the best crook.

The free market system is never perfect, because no human-made system is perfect. But what we try to do is make it as fair as possible knowing that there will always be imperfections.

Electing Trump is just electing one of the people who helped screw up the system. He's in it for himself.

I am openly subversive of the silly notion that the NBC clause does not cover anyone born in the United States but not to foreign ambassadors or born anywhere of at least one American citizen parent. Cruz is covered as the son of his citizen mother. This not a real issue.

OTOH, real issues include:

1. Who will be appointed to SCOTUS and other judgeships and what are the mandatory minima of their ideological qualifications?

2. Rebuilding the American military as Reagan did.

3. Cutting the fat out of the federal budget without removing muscle and sinew.

4. Militantly applying the 2nd Amendment RTKBA.

5. Jettisoning sovereignty sapping "trade deals" and restoring the industrial base of the USA, the world be dam*ned.

6. Reviewing the entire relationship between the US and the UN and cutting off the UN's allowance wherever possible and its powers as well.

7. Getting control over the GOP-E Congressional "leadership" and rank and file, requiring that they represent the American people instead of Wall Street, K Street and the US Chamber of Crony Commerce and their respective ilk.

8. Putting a stop to the Holocaust of 60+ million surgically slaughtered innocent babies pursuant to Herod Blackmun and SCOTUS Almighty.

9. Marriage: One man, one woman only.

10. An immediate end to CORE curriculum transmission of academic incompetence and politically correct Marxist propaganda to poison future generations.

Many more available on request but NBC is not one of them.

Birthers can relieve their anal retentiveness by taking a pound of Ex-Lax or a couple of quarts of Miralax solution. They will feel a lot better a few hours later and we will all be relieved of Birtherism which was an irrelevant bore when aimed at Obozo much less at Ted Cruz.

That Cruz is naturalized is an issue. The law says he is, and you say he isn't.

You'd make an NBC of a child born and raised in Afgahistan, of US citizen Polly Pinhead and Achmed the bomber, and you'd defend that conclusion by saying this is what the US constitution says.

Trump has a history of giving money to whomever will allow him to make money. He strongly supported Kelo v. Connecticut. That decision allows your local gov. to take your property if they think they can make more money by selling it someone else.

YOu don't like eminent domain laws but you enjoyed your ride on the highway on in a train today, or your flight in an airplane, all of which are dependent on eminent domain laws...I see...

He thinks tariffs will work. Tariffs don't work. The Smoot-Hawley tariff made the depression a lot worse. He's made a lot of other anti-free trade statements.

.

First off, there are many who say Smoot-Hawley had little if nothing to do with the Depression...Looking at the evidence that's available I agree with that premise...

Secondly, you're flat out wrong...Trump doesn't make anti-free trade statements...He makes 'unfair'-trade statements, often...Trump supports free, fair trade...Apparently you don't...

How can one tackle roe based upon original intent if we choose to ignore original intent ‘natural born’? Credibility begins with original intent.. And I ‘believed’, these that advertised themselves as following original intent. Now they are no different than the tribe side.. Tea party gave GOP the charge of the people's house. I remember that filled with joy... And what did Saint in the making boehner say... He was not changing Pewlouise’s rules...

Planned parenthood is still tax-payer funded... It is repulsive. It seems daily those that oppose roe v wade become less and less.. I just do not find it credible to hold trump accountable for roe v wade, when the elected GOP has had numerous opportunities to end taxpayer funding.

-- As an attorney I know how the courts would handle this and they would determine that Cruz, Jindal, Rubio and Obama were all natural born citizens since they are the children of citizens. --

How do you wave off WKA and Rogers v. Bellei? By predicting that SCOTUS is going to rule against its own precedents that involve naturalizing citizens at birth, when the case involves a president-elect or a candidate for the office? That everybody else who gets citizenship by 8 USC 1401 is naturalized, but when that person runs for the office they will be deemed to have been born in the US?

-- ... yours is a minority opinion and an opinion that will never be the majority opinion of the Supreme Court or any other legitimate court. --

Can you point to ONE, just one case that finds a person born abroad is not naturalized?

Why are you so fixated on the Birther issue? You think the Supreme Court is God? Are you this fixated over Roe v. Wade? Or do you think the Supreme Court always gets it right?

-- Why are you so fixated on the Birther issue? --

To be honest, I'm not sure. I think it strikes my interest for a variety of reasons. I think the constitution is nifty, I think it's worth understanding how it operates. It's an issue that many people resolve in a misleading framework (citizen-at-birth = NBC), and I think there is some value in teaching people how the issue is actually resolved as a matter of law. I like to teach, and I think it is unhealthy for a population to run under a false belief. I think the NBC clause is an important factor for preserving US nationality and US interests. I thing Due Process and RKBA are important too.

-- You think the Supreme Court is God? --

No. It is an outcome-oriented political body.

-- Are you this fixated over Roe v. Wade? --

Planned Parenthood v. Casey. Yes, I am.

-- Or do you think the Supreme Court always gets it right? --

No. It makes many mistakes. See "outcome-oriented" remark above.

But on the question of whether all persons born abroad are naturalized, that issue has no social ramification, because a citizen is a citizen. Naturalized is as much a citizen as a person born into citizenship, just later in their life. IOW, I don't see social engineering or any deviation in 200 years of case law on the subject.

Now, my question to you was on how SCOTUS labels the citizenship of persons made citizen-at-birth by operation of an Act of Congress. What does the case law say? And why do you believe that SCOTUS would not use the same analysis in the hypothetical case of Citizen v. Secretary of State of Texas, with Cruz being the subject of a finding?

Cruz wasn't naturalized.

People born overseas to a parent citizen are citizens at birth.

How many times has The Donald been married?

I keep hearing that multiple marriages is a sign of some major character flaw, so its interesting to find out Levin has that in common with Trump.

I am not in a place where I can listen to the audio. Is soon to be stepson a full time staffer in Cruz’s Senate office or a campaign worker? I have read both. Just asking for clarification.
