-- I am openly subversive of the silly notion that the NBC clause does not cover anyone born in the United States but not to foreign ambassadors or born anywhere of at least one American citizen parent. Cruz is covered as the son of his citizen mother. This not a real issue. --

That Cruz is naturalized is an issue. The law says he is, and you say he isn't.

You'd make an NBC of a child born and raised in Afgahistan, of US citizen Polly Pinhead and Achmed the bomber, and you'd defend that conclusion by saying this is what the US constitution says.

I would but the Constitution does that for Ms. Pinhead's child. We cannot change history. We can only make history.

If this Birther business is so da*n important, then let us amend the Constitution for the future and require all POTUS candidates be born of two citizens of the US and of somewhat rural Texas, preferably. That is not required now but we could require it in futuro.

BTW, it seems that, if you substitute Comrade Stanley Anne Dunham Obama Soetero for Ms. Pinhead (and it s not hard to do) and "anti-colonialist" Comrade Barack Obama, Sr. for Achmed the bomber and Kenya for Afghanistan, kaboom! We have a very familiar real life case.

364 days from now , God willing, Obozo leaves office. Our long national nightmare will be over. Hopefully Comrade Imam Obozo is replaced by a conservative ready to hit the ground running and ready to spend days undoing by executive order whatever can be undone and doing whatever is necessary and desirable to purge the party of GOP-E airheads, replace each with ten Reagan Democrats, and restore our Republic and our civilization. If Ted Cruz can do that, I won't lose sleep over the NBC question.
