Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain says America's restaurant industry would shut down if Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election. Bourdain blasted Trump's vow to deport illegal immigrants if elected, saying it would leave the nation's kitchens empty.

I’ve seen what goes on in the kitchen of Chinese restaurants and these people are citizens ,that’s why I never eat at them
If you have young family members out trying to find work, you know the job situation here.
I don’t believe most restaurants are hiring illegals, not for a minute. But if they are, and they lose any hire help, those positions would be filled that same day by Americans who want to work.
One thing I do notice. We put in place endless labor regulations, and then undercut those regulations with illegal labor. That I see a lot. Its a kind of hypocrisy.
He’s probably right. Americans - both black and white - believe it’s beneath them to work in a restaurant kitchen unless they can start as a chef or a trained person. Meanwhile, many immigrants are perfectly willing to start in a restaurant as busboys...and will one day end up either in a top spot in the kitchen or owning the restaurant.
Americans no longer have any confidence in moving up. Or perhaps any wish to do the hard work and long hours it takes to move up.
So restaurants are criminal enterprises. Got it. Shut them down!

Uh I think it got extended for a 100 weeks or more. Further I have been told by workers for years that people they know avoid work to stay on unemployment. I know personally of deadbeats who turn down work because the unemployment checks are coming.
As for the requirement that you look for work? You go to a dozen places that you aren’t qualified for or are not hiring. You check off your list.

Funny how the media calls Bourdain a chef, but I’ve never seen the man cook anything. He merely eats and criticizes someone else’s food.
