Two debates tonight on CNBC live from the Coors Event Center at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
The 'kids table' started just after 6 p.m. EDT with Sen. Lindsey Graham (SC), Gov. Bobby Jindal (LA), former Gov. George Pataki (NY), and former Sen. Rick Santorum (PA).
The main event at 8 p.m. EDT will feature Donald Trump (NY), Dr. Ben Carson (Fl), Sen. Marco Rubio (FL), former Gov. Jeb Bush (FL), Carly Fiorina (CA), Sen. Ted Cruz (TX), former Gov. Mike Huckabee (AR), Gov. Chris Christie (NJ), Gov. John Kasich (OH), and Sen. Rand Paul (KY).
Moderators for both debates are: John Harwood, Carl Quintanilla, and Becky Quick.
I would add that Trump basically says in his position paper that AFTER the jobs situation is corrected, then we can resume letting in a rational number of quality LEGAL immigrants under a wages scenario that is fair to citizens. He needs to emphasize this on camera, I believe.
Saying people here on student visas should stay is ludicrous. We educate these people to go back to their home countries and improve those same countries. Student visas should be rare, not the rule.
The H-1B question should be answered as a conservative: as long as there is high unemployment — especially middle class unemployment — we don’t issue H-1B visas. The program needs to be eliminated completely. No exceptions.
Otherwise, conservatives and Republicans will continue to lose elections and move to the left.
Good thing no one is really paying attention right now.
Cruz slammed one out of the ballpark when he went after the moderators and the liberal bias in the media, that was absolutely awesome, especially when he mention how Hitlery blatantly lied about Benghazi relating in emails that it was a terror attack then saying it was a video, and the media totally gave her a pass on that. Something that would have been on the headlines for the next year if she had been a Republican but instead they celebrated her like she’s a hero. The bias is incredible.
Someone should total all the foreign students now in the US, include a projection 5 years out, if such exists, run those # by Trump, and ask how many of those we should retain.
They showed some polls (one was Drudge's) with Trump winning with like 45-50 % of the votes. Good for him.
Jeb was the biggest loser in MSDNC’s opinion.
What the self-proclaimed political intelligensia here forget is politics is as much about culture as it is about policy.
The Founders weren't walking around the colonies smoking pipes with patches on elbows of their smoking jackets. It was down in the mud, scandalry. The Glenn Beck teddy bears for wetbacks bullshit is the root of much of this anti-Trump fervor.
Yes, get your political talking points from a dry drunk, who surrounds himself with sycophants and giggling toadies. Trump may not be a "100% Conservative Union" or whoever they are but at lease he's tossed some Viagra into the water cooler.
Are you actually so ---- you think any of the other candidates, Cruz included, would have the audacity to question what was going on with the debates?
I've been around this site long enough to see some of the early candidates some of the people who populate this place have supported. That Duncan Hunter should be catching on right soon. Just as soon as "we educate the electorate". Truth be told, this is the first time people have latched onto someone who could possibly be a winner this early in the game?
But it's not just about popularity, it's GETTING THE JOB DONE! If Trump does one thing, ONE THING he has talked about, it would be one thing more than any other candidate would do.
I wish I could remember where I read it but it really hit home. Obama isn't a failure. He's successfully done all he wanted to and then some. You want another 4 to 8 years of this Leftist bullshit? I, for one, certainly don't.
That's why I have to question some of the motives who want to tear down Trump. The man fights, he's probably one of the few who wouldn't have his balls handed to him in the first minute in a debate with "she who must not be named".
We currently grant over 300,000 H-1B visas PER YEAR.
SHUT IT DOWN!
Dear Mr. Speaker,
At least one candidate for the Republican nomination for President 2016, Senator Ted Cruz, has suggested that voters could learn much more from a debate moderated by a conservative panel, than spectacles like the farce of last night, on MSNBC. Senator Cruz suggested popular talk show hosts as panelists, but, I believe the forum would have better “standing” if the panel also included persons who have been involved in crafting policy and laws on State or National level.
“Possibles” would include yourself, Senator Jim DeMint, Gov. Sarah Palin (great on energy policy) Senator Joe Lieberman (ME and Israel), Mayor Rudi Guilani, and many others. Panelists and the moderator would be limited to short, concise questions (no speeches!). Obviously the moderator would “run” the forum.
I do not know what you could do to assist in getting something like this rolling. Perhaps, if he likes the idea, Mr. Trump or his staff could assist with it getting widely televised, and streamed online.
Thank You for your consideration!
Correction: “CNBC”. Short night & I’m not fully awake yet!
:-)
I misspelled Guiliani too - sheesh...
USCIS says it’s 85,000 a year. (65k “general” + 20k “advanced degree”.)

That’s still too many under present circumstances...
I thought the "musical moderators" they brought in was an amazing event. All of the sudden Rick Santelli shows up among the 3 person panel with questions. Later, some unknown woman shows up with questions. We were all like "Where the heck did they come from?"
I got the impression after the candidates destroyed the credibility of the first 3 moderators in under 10 minutes into the debate that producers started taking flack at a magnitude that caused them to panic and call in "reinforcements".
I think what we witnessed was the total collapse of the CNBC's credibility, live on the air - disastrous!
And completely delightful...
It’s fact that we are graduating less students in those fields and fact that our public schools are putting out kids less and less capable each year.
I never said that not one American student get those degrees -there are those that learn in spite of the education system. I’m not falling for your straw man argument.
I could provide links of proof but your mind is closed.
The 2 events are not mutually exclusive. With a failing economy there may not be enough jobs for all engineers and companies probably are hiring cheaper foreigners. (part of Trump’s plan is to force companies to pay prevailing wages to all, eliminating that).
And I’m talking those with degrees - I think you are talking about all tech workers. I know our education system is dumbed down and so does everyone else here - you stand alone thinking it is just as robust as in the 50’s. I guess you think liberals and unions are doing a great job.
Is there a ping list for these events? I would love to be on it.
“BTW, esp. if this could be a series of debates, even more panelists could be brought in to particular debates. Sarah Palin on energy questions. Joe Lieberman on the ME, if he would agree to it, and is still âOKâ mentally, these days. (Yes, I know heâs not a pub, but, heâs sensible in some areas.) Etc.”
That’s a great idea - we don’t need no stinking journalists that pretend to be experts, get the real experts with maybe one talk show host!
It’s pretty obviously that Carly has been ridden hard and put up wet waaay too many times. She obviously gets upset when people figure it out as well.
Great letter! I hadn’t thought of Mr. Newt but he got the ball rolling last election by fighting back.
Got to run, but I’ll check back with you later.
Marco was on cnbc earlier this morning being interviewed by becky “not so Quick.” She was almost apologetic giving him carte blanche telling him he could talk about anything he wanted. Marco commented that he expected more heavy duty questions last night like the feds screw ups, the deficit, etc. Not one gotcha question after another. John Harwood has lost his reputation if he ever had one and cnbc will never recover from last nights performance. Fox Business News will now become the leader in business broadcasting.
Little question now about who rules CNBC,MSNBC or NBC,they are all controlled by far lefties. They have stopped hiding.
