Red States Erick Erickson dis-invited GOP presidential candidate and businessman Donald Trump after he insulted Fox News anchor and Thursday nights debate moderator Megyn Kelly during a CNN interview Friday night.
I have rescinded my invitation to Mr.Trump. While I have tried to give him great latitude, his remark about Megyn Kelly was a bridge too far Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) August 8, 2015
Well I just dont respect her as a journalist. I have no respect for her. I think shes highly overrated. But when I came out there what was I doing Im not getting paid for this. I go out there. And you know they start saying lift up. And you know I didnt know there would be 24 million people I figured but I knew it was going to be a big crowd because I get big crowds I get ratings they call me the ratings machine so I have you know she she gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions, Trump said to CNNs Don Lemon.
He went further saying, And you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes blood coming out of her whatever. She was in my opinion she was off-base. And by the way, not in my opinion, in the opinion of hundreds of thousands of people on Twitter because it has been a brutal day. In one way a great day for Fox. in another day in the Twitter sphere its been very bad because shes been very badly criticized. Shes a lightweight. I couldnt care less about her.

Nah, I think you’ve failed to see that post 2008 we’re in a new era. It’s not about ideology any more. It’s all about the celebrity. Jason Mattera’s book “Obama Zombies” made that pretty clear.
There’s not very much difference between Hillary and Jeb. If a conservative or libertarian can’t win, I’d like to see the 3rd party throw a wrench into the whole system and force Republicans to become a third party. The Republican Party is the problem. If the Republican Party were more responsive to its base, there would be no possibility of a Trump figure. But as it stands, Trump is doing what he does best, supplying a product due to an artificial inefficiency in the political marketplace.
“...but I knew it was going to be a big crowd because I get big crowds I get ratings they call me the ratings machine”
Something that is starting to grate on me is the incessant gratuitous self-promotion. Don’t get me wrong, I get a kick out of it most of the time, I enjoy his self confidence, in fact I find it appealing. But is it necessary to bring that up in just about every interaction? It starts to seem empty to me.
His rote responses often are composed of:
Statements about how great he is
Use of the words “disaster” “failure” “tremendous” “phenomenal” “huge”
An insult
I hate to say it, but it seems like a repetitive pattern is setting in and a good part of his charm (for me anyway) is his ability to surprise. I suppose that ‘surprise’ is not sustainable but can he replace it with substance?
Lighten up a bit, Donald! Surprise us by not making everything so personal or bypass an insult and offer a solution to something instead.
That serves more than one purpose. I believe Rush explained that strategy at one time.
LOL!
Awesome!
Any truth that EE is no longer at RedState?
It’s great for Erickson to work himself up in fake outrage over what he pretends to perceive as a sexist remark when he tweets stuff like this:
“My wife tells me Mary had PMS on the way to Bethlehem. Says the Bible says Mary rode Joseph’s ass all the way there. Hahaha. Wow.”
https://twitter.com/EWErickson/status/256756308261347328?s=09
(Cowardly to crack a vulgar, blasphemous joke while trying to avoid responsibility for it, assigning responsibility for his words to his wife.)
The issue at hand was her “performance” at the debate. How she handled a monster like Patricia Ireland is utterly irrelevant. I mean, you might as well show me some clip where Bill Maher had a moment of sanity, but it doesn’t change anything.
I’ll say it again, it was one of the most unprofessional and shameful displays at a serious debate I’ve ever seen. If her bosses at Fox had any sense of propriety, they’d have made her apologize and remove her from any future debates.
Exactly.
I wouldn’t want to be invited to a “red state gathering” either, since it would be a gathering of communist nations. ;-)
Mark Everson should be 100,000,000 to 1, LMAO
Trump will be back to supporting Hillary in no time anyway.
I'm so sorry you had your widdle feelings hurt by being so humiliated back in 2012, but kindly go stuff your whining posts as far up your dark side as your head is. I am proud to be in your head 24/7, I realize you haven't forgotten your humiliation, but you might just want to move on some time for your own good.
It was on my list to get back to this.
Trump has been splaining this with bald faced lying claiming that he said
“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes,Blood coming out of her wherever whatever.
Making up the whatever to mean he wanted to just stop talking about it. But he didn't say whatever,
His recent praise of Planned Parenthood is heartwarming,
That seems to be the Trump supporters answer to everything.
The surge in Bernie Sanders polls over Hillary indicates that many of those polled are just playing around now,
Maybe Kim Kardasian should run as GOP nominee.
C’mon, man. Erickson made that one up from whole cloth. Time to move on.
