10. Donald Trump: Awful, rude, arrogant, an embarrassment.

I would say that Trump won the debate. I was for Cruz and will continue to be. But that doesn’t mean that I think Cruz won the “debate”.

Educate yourself about Cruz’s favorability among Democrats:

And among Hispanics:

http://www.mrctv.org/blog/poll-trump-leads-gop-field-among-hispanics-records-34-favorability

The data show that he’s got very high ratings.

Of course, you’re free to disregard the data and make ad hominem insults.

Take no prisoners Trump. A bad thing?? We need kickass leadership to get the USA back on the top. A dangerous world out there and they want to pussy foot? So he insulted a queen of insults, Fat Rosey? Who TF is she? Get rid of PC and grow tougher Skin. Not a big fan of the Donald, but if he can destroy Hillary, it will all be worth it. Rosey can run as VP for Hillary. I can see Trump and Cruz as a pair, and if you haven’t already noticed, it looks like a tag team match in the works.

If we could only get Bush, Huck and Christie out and Fiorina in we might get somewhere.

Darn right. And their political wing known as the Democrat Party too.

Fiorina was very impressive. She won that debate hands down, IMO.

Educate yourself about Cruz’s favorability among Democrats:

Cruz was mentioned in two paragraphs in the first article you linked me to.

Here's the first:

One thing very much to Democrats' advantage in the Senate race is that Hillary Clinton has a substantial lead over the Republican field in the state. She is up by anywhere from 9 to 18 points against the GOP hopefuls. The Republicans who come closest to Clinton are Jeb Bush who trails by 9 at 48/39, Rand Paul who trails by 10 at 47/37, and Scott Walker who trails by 11 at 50/39. The GOPers who do the worst against Clinton are Donald Trump who's down 18 at 51/33, and Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee who each trail by identical 16 point margins at 51/35. In between are Ben Carson and Marco Rubio who each trail by 12 points at 49/37, Chris Christie who's down 14 at 49/35, and Carly Fiorina who trails by 15 at 49/34.k

Spinning this as Bush showing well with Democrats is silly.  He is one of the worst against Hillary.

Jeb Bush shows best against her.  (In their opiion, certainly not mine...)

Here's the second:

Scott Walker leads the Republican field in the state with 23% to 18% for Donald Trump, 11% for Jeb Bush, 8% for Chris Christie, 7% for Ben Carson, 6% for Marco Rubio, 5% each for Mike Huckabee and Rand Paul, 4% for Ted Cruz, 3% for Carly Fiorina, 2% each for Bobby Jindal and Rick Santorum, 1% each for Lindsey Graham, John Kasich, and Rick Perry, and the dreaded less than 1% rounding to 0 for Jim Gilmore and George Pataki.

This was supposed to show support for Cruz among Democrats?  Really?

This was a terrible link if you wanted to show suppont among Democrats for Cruz.

And among Hispanics:

Trump recorded a 34% favorability rating among Hispanics in a national poll conducted by Public Policy Polling (PPP) among 1,087 registered voters between July 20-21.

Trump has made immigration a seminal part of his campaign, receiving praise, but also criticism, from the political left and right.

During a much-publicized visit to the border in Laredo, TX last Thursday, Trump told reporters he thought he would "win the Hispanic vote."

Gov. Bush (R-FL) follows Trump with a 31% favorability rating among Hispanics, and Senator Cruz is close behind with 30%.

Okay.

Did Cruz lead the field in support with Hispanics?  No

Was Cruz second in support with Hispanics?  No

Was Cruz third in support with Hispanics?  Yes

For the record Cruz pulled in 88% of the support in this group that Trump did.  That's not a bad showing, but it's not the best either.  And I have to wonder what drives you so hard to support people who get anywhere from 20% to 88% of the support our other candidates get.

We struggle to get the Hispanic vote in all major elections, and here you want to concede 4% of the vote so your guy can be the nominee.

You don’t know how to understand stats very well.

The first set of stats was favorability among Democrats — 51/33 for Trump and 51/35 for Cruz.

The second was favorability among Hispanics — 34% for Trump and 30% for Cruz.

Your uninformed premise was that Hispanics just don’t support Cruz, just don’t favor him. The data show otherwise — his favorability rating is just about the same as Trump. His favorability rating is high.

Lots of Democrats and lots of Hispanics will vote for Cruz. And when he is the candidate, he will receive a lot of Democrat and Hispanic votes, sufficient to make him President.

You’d sincerely rather see Trump in the Oval Office, over Cruz? Really?

Are you trying to say that the Reagan Democrat trend was good in the 80s, but bad here or something?

Theo, that was a hypothetical state race. It was not limited to Democrats.

As for his support among Hispanics, he came in third.

As you state, stats are a real problem at times.

Since it doesn’t matter that he got 4% less or 88% of what Trump did, why not go for someone pulling in 25% favorable ratings. Why stop that the third place guy if the numbers don’t matter?

FOX should thank Trump. Otherwise, many would not have watched. I know people who only tuned in for that reason.

VictoryGal, I’m not bashing Trump, I’m telling the truth. I’m voting Republican even if Trump is the nominee. I hope it’s not “Jeb.” I thoroughly enjoyed the debate. It was informative and entertaining. I was surprised that I liked something about each one of the candidates. I haven’t committed yet. I don’t jump on bandwagons.

Then vote for Hillary. She’s likely to receive more of the Hispanic vote than either Trump or Cruz. Screw principle; vote for a winner, Doughty.
