In a preview of the 2016 campaign, all five late night comics on Monday night mocked Ted Cruz, hitting the Republican as anti-immigrant, regressive and stupid. CBS host David Letterman didn't bother with a joke. Instead, he lectured, "Here's what I find interesting about Ted Cruz, he was born in Canada. His father fled to the United States from Cuba. Yet, Ted Cruz is against immigration. Isn't that odd?"
He then sneered, "Ted Cruz could be president of the United States and if you thought the Secret Service was drinking before " On TBS, Conan O'Brien hammered, "[Cruz] pledged to lead America boldly forward into the late 1950s."
Regarding the senator's opposition to amnesty, O'Brien noted that Cruz's first commercial was in Spanish and sneered, "Cruz said it's important for me to reach out to the people I'm trying to deport."

People overestimate the stupidity of the American people. A passionate and articulate conservative reaching out with a plan for a better tomorrow will resonate, and the elitist mind-control trolls will seem even more foolish.
I dwell in a place often surrounded by the lower 47%. They get it that they're losing what little they have, and reasons are things like the government getting in the way of jobs and opportunity. They know that the police are on a tightrope between keeping the population safe and having to shoot someone, causing the staged protests.
Ted Cruz speaks to those concerns with a positive message. I think it plays with the younger population. And I think it plays with immigrants and second-generation who did it the legal way.
Foster Friess was saying on Cavuto that those underestimating Cruz will live to regret it. Says Cruz is a man who thinks several steps ahead and does not stumble.
The late night tv comics are still trying to find something they can ridicule Obama over.
Even for a late night comedy host, Letterman is an outstanding horse’s ass. A mean spirited libtard fool.
He got a pass on his personal life because he's such a good troll for the elite. That disgusts me.
Besides that, I can't listen to him. He comes across as an arrogant jerk.
JMHO
However, many of my generation do watch Colbert and the Daily Show but with those shows going off the air, it will be interesting to see the impact of late night on the election.
Does anybody actually watch these people? You couldn’t pay me enough money to watch any of them. Life is too short to waste it on stupidity.
I love it... 1. It tells you when is one exactly right over the target. 2. As the campaign goes on, it will expose them for who they are... and that can’t be good for this crowd of leftist kooks. 3. It’s fun to watch them squirm with Cruz under their skin and deep into their heads.
On the other hand Letterman is...not so bright:
Letterman attended his hometown’s Broad Ripple High School at the same time as Marilyn Tucker (future wife of Dan Quayle) and worked as a stock boy at the local Atlas Supermarket. According to the Ball State Daily News, he originally had wanted to attend Indiana University, but his grades were not good enough, so he instead attended Ball State University, in Muncie, Indiana. He is a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, and he graduated in 1969 from what was then the Department of Radio and Television. A self-described average student, Letterman later endowed a scholarship for what he called “C students” at Ball State.

The narrative among Leftists is that anybody who disagrees with them, does so because he is too stupid to see the wisdom of the Left's position. Either that, or he's evil.
It is unacceptable for any Leftist to question any aspect of the Left's position, or to concede that there is anything correct about any conservative position.
I watched the full speech and what I felt was missing was charisma. Ronald Reagan was charming. Sarah Palin had sizzle. They were both physically attractive people, which counts a lot when you have a shallow pop-culture electorate. If we knew nothing of their politics, we’d think Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were attractive people.
Ted Cruz looks like a funeral director. He’s got a big nose, the beginning of jowls, a pale face and a manner that is sincere to the point of zealotry. I love his message. He’s got my vote. But he’s going to need to do some “one of us” campaign stops to do hunting, eat some brats, crack some jokes to help moderates and others get comfortable with him if he has any chance of winning.
The fault isn’t Cruz. The fault is ours as an electorate. But the American electorate is not going to choose someone who looks like he spends all day closeted in the law library. He needs to show he connect with voters, not just preach the conservative gospel.
Over target, taking flack, proceed with extreme prejudice. I had some doubts earlier about Cruz, but after seeing the meltdown on the left, just from him announcing his presidential bid, I think we have a real candidate.
.
It sure didn't in regards to both Bush and Palin....it's that old Chinese Water Torture technique.
Alan Dershowitz, who is no friend of Republicans, has openly stated that Ted Cruz was one of his most brilliant law students ever at Harvard Law and was always the smartest guy in the room.
That's really saying something since that room was at Harvard Law School and guys like Alan Dershowitz and Lawrence Tribe were in the same room as Cruz.
I don't hear ANYONE from Harvard Law School saying anything about Obama when he was there.
For a brief shining moment, when he spoke extemporaneously on the rubble at ground zero, W did shake that label. Then the next day he declared that Islam was a religion of peace and it went right back on him.
Cruz doesn’t have snow ball’s chance in hell to be POTUS. Why? Absolutely too intellectually brilliant! The powers that be that control the US behind the scenes want some one dumb enough to control. Obama was touted to be an intellectual giant but has proven otherwise.
Too bad That Sarah Palin couldn't or didn't. I still feel we lost a very good person when she got trashed by the libs.
“David Letterman? I thought he died.”
He’s been dead to me for years.
