GOP Strategist: Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush Carry Same Odds in 2016
NewsMax ^ | February 16, 2015 | Drew MacKenzie

A leading Republican consultant has ranked the top 10 presidential candidates for 2016 while claiming that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has about the same odds of winning the party’s nomination as former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, The Washington Post reported.

The unnamed strategist divided the GOP race for 2016 into "four lanes" — establishment, tea party, social conservative and libertarian, according to the newspaper.

Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker are the leading candidates in establishment, the largest lane, while former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is battling it out with retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum for the social conservative lane.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has the libertarian lane all by himself, while Cruz is the dominant figure in the tea party lane.

"What that means — particularly in the early stages of the primary process in places such as Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina — is that [Cruz] will probably be able to win, place or show repeatedly, racking up enough strongish performances to keep going even as the establishment and social-conservative lanes thin out," writes the Post’s Chris Cillizza.

"The trick for Cruz, the consultant said, is to hang around long enough to be the preeminent figure not only in the tea party lane but also in the social-conservative lane."(continued)

The Cheap Labor Express is sparing no expense to ensure a Bush nomination. Huckabee ain’t working cheap, though I suspect Grahamnesty is.
If we reject Jeb, they’ll settle for Walker.
The important thing is the amnesty.
The RNC does not care if they win.
Only that we don’t elect anyone who will uphold the rule of law.

Cruz is the only one running that has not endorsed “Comprehensive Screwing of Americans” by exempting Fraudulently Documented Foreigners from our laws.

Surrender the rule of law and you have surrendered your country.

Huckabee is a stalking horse to draw votes away from Cruz.
Grahamnesty is in this only until SC, then he withdraws, his purpose is to disrupt SC so it can’t be used as a springboard.

Both of them are on the payroll of The Cheap Labor Express.

Romney proved that attack mode and a huge money advantage will degrade any opponent over time. That is Jeb’s sole hope, because other than that he’s an ‘illegals love’ looney tunes. And he’s a poor little rich kid whose family owns the white house and it’s his turn to play with the family toy.

” Bush is running to ensure a Democrat win.”

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

They all have a common employer whether they know it or not.

And that is why the Huckster joined the race! The GOP-e egged him into it because they believe that he can distract from Cruz. Once again the consultants are all wet and have no idea about the conservative base.

“Carson is no conservative and I have no idea what Huckster is.”

Carson may, or may not be a conservative. The fact of the matter is that he hasn’t spent enough of his considerable intellectual capacity to study political philosophy or history enough to understand conservatism. He certainly is not up to the task and therefore should be politely and respectfully taken aside and told to please work for a more learned candidate on the subject.

He could be a force for a Ted Cruz and he is a man that should be respected for a life of considerable accomplishments. However, while his considerable intellectual capacaty has been wasted on such frivolities as learning how to seperate conjoined twins that were joined at the head, I have spent my valuable time on FR studiously understanding these subjects! ;-) Seriously, although he has helped many individuals and families immensely, he would bring great harm to nations.

While I respect him as a man, I agree with you that he is not up to the task of leading us out of the coming catastrophe that we will face. I am not sure that anyone is up to it, but I have much more confidence in someone that has studied conservatism and understands the philosophy and history of our USSC.

Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

If you draw a Venn diagram, the tea party circle overlaps probably 80% of the social conservative circle and 95% of the libertarian circle.

The intra-Republican Party split is much more an everybody-but-the-establishment vs. the establishment scenario. The problems always is that 6-10 evangelical/tea party/libertarian types split up the anti-establishment primary vote.

These categories are arbitrary. I reject the idea that the Pauls define libertarianism. The tea party and social conservatives are largely the same group. Jeb Bush and Scott Walker are hardly products of the same "Establishment."
