Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul said the Republican Party has to embrace a message of optimism and “look like the rest of America” to win again.
“If we want to win again, if we want to be a bigger party, not only do we have to be a party that looks like the rest of America—black, white, brown, with tattoos, without tattoos, earrings, without earrings—we have to look like the rest of America but we also have to have a party that has the message of optimism,” said Paul in his keynote address at the American Principles Project gala on Wednesday evening.
When the GOP becomes the party of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and liberty, Republican ideas “will win the day again,” he said.
Paul suggested that Republicans should decide if they are going to “go bold” on fiscal issues or become “Democrat light.” …

That’s OK. Barack Obama campaigned to the “right” of Hillary Clinton, at least in rhetoric.
Paul needs to take a good look at the conservative base and the conservative leadership. It does look like America and more so everyday.

I don’t give a rat’s ass about your neck tattoos... or how often you eat chitlins and collard greens, the Republican Party needs to adopt the values of the constitutional conservatives that, believe it or not, are the majority of the taxpaying electorate.
When it comes to strategy and messaging, the entire Paul family leaves a lot to be desired.
Next time we see Paul, I’m sure he’ll have a spray on tan, multiple piercings, and some face tattoos to ensure that we ‘look’ like america.
Not sure I want to be part of a party with a bunch of democrats in it.

The GOP needs to get the same amongst Minorities and do better amongst midwest whites.
