Sarah Palin readies bus tour amid 2012 speculation
Washington Post ^ | 5/26/11 | Dan Balz

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin (R), who has been largely out of the public eye through much of the spring, will reemerge Sunday as she begins a national bus tour that will put her back in the spotlight and no doubt renew speculation about a possible presidential bid.

The tour, the first of what will be a series of such journeys over a period of weeks, will start on Sunday in Washington at the annual Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally and work its way north along the East Coast. She will visit other parts of the country later, stopping at symbolically important sites in the nation’s history.

Romney has her beat in money and organization.

I think you may be wrong about this. Yes, Romney has more personal money that she does, but does he have the ability to convince you or I to part with some of our money? He will have to rely on corporate money while Palin will be funded by millions of supporters. Koch Bros. support will not go to Romney this time.

Romney doesn’t have thousands of volunteers willing to work for his election as Palin does. Her organization is coming from the bottom up while Romney’s is made up of paid political operatives. Romney will follow a game plan drafted by media consultants and political advisers. Palin will run her own campaign based on her knowledge of voters and a successful track record of winning elections. She will hire consultants only when needed and she will make the decisions.

Logic? You explain to me, logically, how she can win.
Leave emotion out of it. And by the way, insulting people who don’t agree with you is not a good campaign strategy. If we are going to convince people who are on the fence that conservatism is the right way, I suggest you do it in a cordial manner. I am a conservative. I just will not support Palin in the primary if she runs, and I don’t think she is going to run. Yell and scream, but there are many many like me. And that is the problem she has.

And supporting whoever you want in the primary is just fine. The question is, after the primary is over, will you support whomever the republican party nominates, enthusiastically?

“She’s gonna break your heart. Mark my words.”

After being the Palin’s personal Prophet of Doom for the past 2 years aren’t you getting tied of all the gloom you spread? I am.

PS Real Conservatives are upbeat and cheery....witness Ronald Reagan.....and yes, Sarah Palin too!

I don't think that's a mandate with which all conservatives are required to comply.

As many Freepers including the Boss have made clear, this is a forum for conservatives, not Republicans.

Sorry I was speaking in generalities..as in people. For sure I have no idea who you supported.

Just unsure how anybody could know enough about Cain to put him above Sarah Palin on a ticket.

I wonder if anybody knows about the particular Baptist Church he attends? Is it a ALL black Church like Rev Wright`s? What kind of sermons has the Pastor given?

How pro life is he? How long as he held this position? Who has he voted for in past elections? Has he ever been a registered Democrat? Who has he given money to?

I do not think anybody here knows the answers to all those questions? I certainly do not.

But people here think they know enough about him to be talking about a Cain/Palin ticket, Cain above Palin???

That`s really all I am saying.

Are my questions totally pout of line?

Oh Please. Palin never takes a bad picture. And it’s ok for people to show intensity and passion.

Well, maybe you hadn't noticed, but I'm one of those passionate ones. I just think that particular snap of Sarah caught her at the wrong nanosecond. The camera actually loves her.

Mark my words. We are witnessing the beginning stages of what will culminate in a Palin/Bachmann ticket. I think it has already been worked out by the two of them. If they are able to runs smart campaigns and team up at the end then the election of 2012 will truly be historic.

"Why? Palin will be our next president, and Cain will get enough votes to make him feel good for having tried. He just won't get my vote. You deserve to know that 82% of all Freepers selected Palin in the FreeRepublic presidential poll. We can't afford 4 more years of Affirmative Action "learning on the job."

Palin won't be president, and the number of Freepers who support her is irrelevant to me. As for affirmative action, the fact is that Palin owes her entire political noteriety to her gender, whether you like it or not. As for on the job training, I'll take Cain's resume and experience over the half-term governor who quit her job.

Cain is best known as the former chairman and CEO of Godfather's Pizza. He is a former deputy chairman (1992–94) and chairman (1995–96) of the civilian board of directors to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Before his business and economics career he worked as a mathematician in ballistics for the United States Navy. Cain's newspaper column is distributed by North Star Writers Group. He lives in the Atlanta suburbs. After completing his master's degree from Purdue, Cain left the Department of the Navy and began working for The Coca-Cola Company as a business analyst. In 1977, he joined Pillsbury where he rose to the position of vice president by the early 1980s. He left his executive post to work for Burger King – a Pillsbury subsidiary at the time – managing 400 stores in the Philadelphia area. Under Cain's leadership, his region went from the least profitable for Burger King to the most profitable in three years. This prompted Pillsbury to appoint him president and CEO of Godfather's Pizza, another of their then-subsidiaries. Within 14 months, Cain had returned Godfather's to profitability. In 1988, Cain and a group of investors bought Godfather's from Pillsbury. Cain continued as CEO until 1996, when he resigned to become CEO of the National Restaurant Association – a trade group and lobby organization for the restaurant industry – where he had previously been chairman concurrently with his role at Godfather's.

Cain became a member of the board of directors to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in 1992 and served as its chairman from January 1995 to August 1996, when he resigned to become active in national politics.Cain was a 1996 recipient of the Horatio Alger Award.

Logic? You explain to me, logically, how she can win.

Now why don't YOU first of all explain how a far left community organizer, with ZERO executive experience, who has been attending a rabidly anti-white, anti-semitic “church” for 20 years can win (0bama).
You do that, and I'll be more than happy to tell you how Sarah Palin will blow 0bozo out of the water in 2012, if she so decides to run.

Leave emotion out of it

That, coming from a highly strung, rabidly anti-Palin troll who refuses to face reason, but then continues to trot out idiotic lame-stream media talking pints, is laughable.

And by the way, insulting people who don’t agree with you is not a good campaign strategy”

You may start off by taking your own advise. Why do anti-Palin trolls regularly ridicule and insult, but then turn round and whine when they get a taste of their own medicine?

Palin won't be president

The famous last words of yet another nasty, ignorant Cain supporter. So what's new?

and the number of Freepers who support her is irrelevant to me. “

And just whop the heck are you?
And why the heck should most Freepers(who support Palin), give two hoots what you think?

As for affirmative action, the fact is that Palin owes her entire political noteriety to her gender, whether you like it or not”

Whatever it is you are smoking, I sure don't want any of it. Either you don't know what you are talking about, or you are deliberately carrying out an excercise in disinformation. Whichever it is, it won't work. Sorry.

As for on the job training, I'll take Cain's resume and experience over the half-term governor who quit her job”

Yeah?
How did that superb, really great, private sector executive experience resume thing work out for Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina (both of whom have had vastly better executive experience than Cain, and are women to boot)?

Palin’s not running her own campaign. That would be stupid. She’s sharp and she’s been working hard to rehabilitate herself. Voters in primaries want winners that support their values. At the end of the summer there will be a big shake-out.

A candidate will need a billion dollars to defeat Obama. A vibrant and enthusiastic support network is just a small part of that. GOTV will be critical and she’ll be held to a very high standard. Any gaffes will be broadly reported per usual on her.

We’ll see if she can break out of the pack. It’s difficult for her to be seen as Presidential right now because the media’s defined her a significant part of that definition is true. Can she mold that into pluses and positives?

That’s the question. I honestly don’t think she’ll run for President.

Just saw her bus at a Cracker Barrel on I81 in Roanoke Virginia. Looked like they were grabing a late dinner on the bus. Several folks were taking photos of the bus.
Didn’t see Sarah though.
