I was appalled at Liz Trotta and 3 other conservative guest panelist (that I couldn't name) on this afternoons Fox newswatch hosted by Jon Scott all agreed that Palins new reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska on the Discovery Channel was very unpresidential and it would sink her any chances for the White House.
The topic was that liberal advocacy groups were asking for the Discovery Channel to pull the plug on it. The consevative commentator Liz Trotta then said that she agreed with Karl Rove that this was a bad move for Palin. Trotta then goes on to take a pop shot at Palin saying "everytime this woman opens her mouth that her numbers go down". She then said "the more she speaks that she makes people simply not like her". Jon Scott did not ask Trotta why this was just like yesterday when Megyn Kelly didn't ask Meghan McCain why she thought Palin would be best as a reality star.
My question is why is Fox news who hired Sarah Palin allowing conservative guest freely without explanation to back up their facts to trash her and her message in a public forum? Why are they allowing people to tarnish her reputation as well as her new TV program which they advertize during commercial time? Something smells
These weren't ordinary smears against her then. The regular smears such as her supposedly saying she can "see Russia from her house" she can handle.
These were actual junk lawsuits filed against her in a blatant attempt to stall or derail the rest of her term. I'm sorry you cannot grasp this simple, logical fact, which stands out like the Sun.
There is no comparison of what? You’re saying she is the better candidate with a better record? Is that what you’re saying?
These are the fools that swoon over losers like Rudy and Mitt. Rove is probably already on Mitt's payroll.
Go Sarah!
Is she better than hussein? Duh.. Of course. I’m liking Rubio so far though, would like to see him around 2020 or so. I don’t like our 2012 lineup yet.
It may have been post election, actually...last week, brimming perhaps with confidence after the dems debacle on Tuesday. . What a classic line that shows her personality in spades and zings the pundits ? Gotta ' love her. She is not afraid, as has most every candidate been since Reagan. I'd support her for that reason alone.
Of course its NOT Palin or bust..whatever gave you that idea your totally off. Of course Sarah is my first choice(Is it THAT obvious LOL) but if she doesn’t run, and DeMint runs, I will vote for him, if Bachmann runs, I will vote for her, if someone else comes along that I have never heard of but everyone says would do an amazing job, I would vote for him/her..of course its not Palin or bust..if Palin runs, she absolutely has my vote, she would be my first choice, but if she doesn’t run, or runs and loses, I’d support whoever does win..and PLEASE don’t let it be Romney, can’t stand him, Huckabee either
Wasn’t Daniels the one who told social conservatives to get on the back of the bus? Non-starter.
Haley Barbour good governor, good party hack. The elites would love him too.
I agree with everything you just said. People like to jump on the bash bandwagon for some reason. Lady J told me flat out that it IS Palin or bust, btw. Look at what I was responding to!
One additional reason I like her best:
she has no ties to Washington DC and in fact she's hostile to it and to the old fossils who sold us out and of course to the Marxists-democrats. I am convinced Sarah Palin is a patriot first, and she will make her decision only after serious prayers, just like she told the crowd at the Christian school a couple of nights ago.
IN IT TO WIN IT - (included here)
Love it that Benyamin Korn of Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin attended and that he video'd the Q & A!
Here is something to look at:
Governor Sarah Palins record:
Energy Independence, Development, and Environmental Stewardship
*Governor Palins cornerstone accomplishment is AGIA (Alaska Gasline Inducement Act). During the Palin administration, TransCanada and Exxon formed an alliance to build a natural gas pipeline from Alaska to the Lower 48. Under Governor Palins governance, the project was expanded and revised from what previous governors had proposed with an open policy process for the Alaskan people. More progress was made on this effort than in the previous 30 years. This is the largest private sector infrastructure project in North American history and helps put us on the path to energy independence.
*Governor Palins administration opened up drilling for oil and natural gas at Pt. Thompson for the first time in decades.
*Governor Palin created the Alaskas Petroleum Integrity Office to oversee all aspects of energy development and to make sure oilfield equipment was safe to operate and a Climate Change Subcabinet to comprehensively and honestly evaluate climate change.
Fiscal Conservatism
*Governor Palin reduced earmark requests for the state of Alaska by 80% during her administration, requesting only earmarks that would benefit the country as a whole.
* Governor Palin reduced spending in her budget for Fiscal Year 2010 by more than one billion dollars from the previous governors Fiscal Year 2007 budget, a 9.5% real reduction in spending. Her FY2010 budget was $10.57 billion compared to Governor Murkowskis FY2007 budget of nearly $11.7 billion. At the same time, she fulfilled her campaign promise to forward fund education, allowing districts greater flexibility and predictability in their planning.
*Governor Palin opposed much of the “stimulus”, wanting only to accept 55% of the money allocated to Alaska, specifically only dollars dedicated to infrastructure [projects. Although the Alaskan legislature ultimately overturned her veto, she stood firm on her commitment to help Alaska to become more self-sufficient while not adding to not add to the skyrocketing national debt.
* Governor Palin invested $5 billion in state savings.
Walking the Walk on Fiscal Responsibility
*Governor Palin sold the private jet purchased by the previous governor. She state it was an unnecessary financial burden on the state and was unable to land on many of the states landing strips.
* To cut costs that would be incurred by continuing to use a personal driver like previous governors, the governor drove herself from Wasilla to her office in Anchorage. She also dismissed the governors personal chef stationed in Juneau, Alaskas capital.
* Governor Palin accepted less state per diem for herself and her family than her predecessors even though she had a larger family.
10th Amendment Advocacy/Promotion of State Constitution
*Showing that she is a strong supporter of the 10th amendment, Governor Palin advocated for the sovereignty of the state of Alaska.
*Governor Palins administration sued the federal government for placing the polar bear on the endangered species list, as this restriction affected energy development which would increase energy costs.
*A Constitutionalist, Governor Palin signed Alaskas Clear and Equitable Share (ACES) bill into law. The Alaska constitution states that the Alaskan people own the oil and other resources. This law ensures that the “owners”, the people of Alaska, receive a clear and equitable share of oil profits.
National Defense/Veterans
*Governor Palin supported ground-based missile defense Ft Greely and other Alaskan Bases around to protect America from Americas enemies. She criticized the Obama administration for cuts that they made to this national defense system.

Sanctity and Dignity of All Life
* Governor Palin strongly supported both parental consent and parental notification legislation.
*Governor Palin increased educational funding for special needs children.
*Governor Palin implemented the Senior Benefits Program to support low income seniors.
Positions Held while Governor
* Chairman of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission.
*Vice Chair of the National Governors Association Natural Resource Committee.
* She served as chair of the Alaska Conservation Commission, which regulates Alaskas most valuable non-renewable resources: oil and gas. She was elected by her peers to serve as president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors. In this role, she worked with local, state and federal officials to promote solutions to the needs of Alaskas communities.
She exposed legal violations and conflicts of interest of Alaska Republican leaders, including the former state Attorney General and the State GOP Chairman (who was also an Oil & Gas Commissioner), who was doing work for the party on public time and supplying a lobbyist with a sensitive e-mail. Several went to jail.

Sarah Palin was Commander of the Alaska National Guard. Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the first line of defense unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. Its on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units in the United States. As governor of Alaska, Palin was briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism daily.
Governor Palin was the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security’s counterterrorism plans.
Give Rubio six years as senator. He’ll still be young. I live in Florida. He was showing RINO signs down here before he got with the program. He needs to prove he won’t turn RINO while he is in the senate. So let him have some time to prove himself.
If Palin is unpresidential...then we need to elect an unpresidential person to fill the role.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
I will vote unpresidential wherever possible. Sheesh! The people’s will has been thwarted on issues of the day for over 20 years.
Yep! Definitely time for non-ivy league , unpresidential
in my books. Palin is one but there are several unpresidental possible candidates.
BTW, Rove ticks me off. Who in the hell does he think he is, trying to make us listen to the Dems about who we should select as a presidential candidate?
Rove is passee. Good bye Rove. American conservatives bid you and yours a fond farewell.
The left and the country club REPUBS are scared to death of Palin. She is not of their elite class, and she will be uncontrollable.Just exactly what the people need in an unpresident.
Yes, all but one charge (which was basically the same as pleading no contest) were dismissed, but you miss the point. The charges consumed Sarah's time and money to the point where some on her staff resigned voluntary. She could not finish her term because of these junk charges.
Did quitting really help?
There you go again, being obtuse. You can call it what you want but it has put Sarah in a much better position than had she stayed on and been bankrupt & politically radioactive.
You also ignore my question I ask you whether or not you would have supported her had she remained in office.
I dont think it did. If she was in that bad of shape, Bush shouldve quit in 2005 or so.
Bush was President. You can't sue the President.
I refuse to believe that she had to quit or else. At the time that may have been her best option, but for me that wrecked her as well. We all make choices, and that one was costly.
Well, I can't change your mind. But your belief that she's a quitter is simply an uninformed opinion that isn't shared even among beltway types who have praised Sarah for stepping down.
All that’s good stuff, I wish she’d lay off the media circus and didn’t quit though, no matter how badly it hurt her financially.
You think Sarah Palin is an elitist? When did you arrive from Bizarro world?
Agreed.
It is on Sunday night at 9PM for 8 weeks on “The Learning Channel (TLC)
I’m tentative on him. IF he proves not to be a rino and IF he’s confirmed as ‘natural born’, he seems like a great guy. My first choice in 08 was Fred Thompson, but by the time the primaries got here he was already done for. We’ll see how it goes next time.
Quitting was her only option in Alaska....she was being bankrupted by Alaska dem’s harrassment lawsuits, and there was not sign they were going to end ‘em.
My hunch is that she is just doing her thing and watching to see if she has an opening. She knows full well what the snobs think.
