Joe Brown and Allee Bautsch
Allee Bautsch, chief campaign fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and her boyfriend Joe Brown, were savagely beaten Friday night in New Orleans after leaving a Republican party fundraising dinner by a group of thugs who reportedly targeted the couple because they were wearing Sarah Palin pins.
Bautch's leg was broken and Brown incurred a broken jaw and nose as well as a concussion.
The Hayride reports that a source who visited Bautsch at the hospital the day after the attack says they were told the couple was attacked for wearing Palin buttons:
Two people at the Brennans event have now confirmed that the protest had largely broken up by the time it ended, but we also understand from someone who visited Allee Bautsch in the hospital Saturday morning that she and Brown were followed and attacked expressly because they had Palin pins on (she heard one of the attackers say Lets get them, they have Palin pins on so the attack WAS politically motivated as its victims understood it. It was not a mugging, it was not an argument gone wrong and it was not a bar fight.
The story of a Republican and her boyfriend being viciously attacked for wearing Palin buttons has yet to make national headlines, unlike say, unfounded rumors of nasty words being said by Tea Party protesters.
It’s Royal Street. But yeah, I would think so. They’re right across Royal from the state supreme court building, too.
why hasn’t the MSM picked this up?
NO is full of thugs,,I suspect it wasn’t “organized”. THey will attack you for having on nice shoes.
Absolutely. It’s tragic that this crime occured. It is also an “atrocity”, a barbarity, barbarousness and shocking heinousness. I just sure as hell hope they catch the perps and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the Law +.
Thugocracy bump! ;-(
Is it your assertion that if we merely banned guns in church, none of this would have happened? Get back to me on how that works out.
“NO is full of thugs,,I suspect it wasnt organized. THey will attack you for having on nice shoes.”
LOL. Reminds me, I was in NO with a group attending a conference, and was wearing a pair of cowboy boots. Various groups of 3 or 4 people kept coming up to me making comments like hey nice boots, and saying betcha I can know where you got them boots.
I always just smiled and said, Thanks anyway, but I do not wish to play. Everyone in the group was wondering what was going on.
A cop finally told us it was a trick question and scam where they would say you bought them, and then claim they won the bet.
Not surprising in Rush's case. He often waits until things solidify a bit before commenting. I think he doesn't want to step into a story like this that hasn't been corroborated. Not being critical, but I have noticed this tendency with his show.
I hear you, but two people are going through an awful lot of trouble for a broken leg and a broken jaw if so.
This is what is written on Michellemalkin.com
Update 3:15pm Eastern: I just heard from Mr. Plotkin that Bautsch and her boyfriend were NOT wearing Palin pins.
Exactly. The NOPD or Governor Jindal will have to first speak before any news outlets will repeat the story that the attacks were caused by the victims wearing Sarah Palin pins.
Do you think it was a crime of opportunity then?
The city has always been violent but I wonder where the police were now that the city is so much smaller and easier to protect.
Good to verify. . .Michelle Malkin has reported now; having waited herself to authenticate; that they were not wearing 'Sarah Palin' pins.
“You got yo’ shoes on yo’ feet.”
That said, per Michelle’s authentication. Even here; I suspect; though she gives this info on authority - that we do not necessarilty have to assume that this IS the definitive word. . .
No one is touching this cause it’s a match in a dynamite factory....
No big deal.....
Not likely. . .not at all. . .
kristinn, Is anyone sending this to the major news outlets?
