Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting spree at a Texas military base by what officials believe was possibly carried out by an Army officer.
The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.
The shooter was killed and two other suspects, who are also soldiers, have been apprehended, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone said.
The gunman used two handguns, Cone said. He wasn't sure if the shooter reloaded the weapons during the attack.

WASHINGTON — Military officials say Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the suspected shooter at Fort Hood, was a psychiatrist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for six years before being transferred to the Texas base in July.
They said he received a poor performance evaluation while at Walter Reed. The Virginia-born soldier is single with no children. He is 39 years old.
He is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he was a member of the ROTC and earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry in 1997. At Walter Reed, he did an internship, residency and a fellowship.

“I got the impression that he was a committed soldier,” Khan said. He spoke often with Hasan about Hasan’s desire for a wife.
On a form filled out by those seeking spouses through a program at the mosque, Hasan listed his birthplace as Arlington, Va., but his nationality as Palestinian, Khan said.
“I don’t know why he listed Palestinian,” Khan said, “He was not born in Palestine.”
Nothing stood out about Hasan as radical or extremist, Khan said.”
Yes we should. We should condemn them for precisely that. Somewhere a demon is laughing if you think religion is something you're born with, like a harelip. There comes a point at which tolerance becomes a weapon of evil, wielded by the one known for employing confusion and deceit.
You aren’t “public”. You totally deserve to be there. I mean the general public that have no real business there other than to cause trouble. For example, there is going to be a concert at the Cherry Point base theatre, open to the public. I’m no longer going, even though I won tickets. After yesterday, I just don’t feel safe.

I was listening to that on the way home yesterday and thought the same thing. What a duffous.
Here’s an interesting contrast between the peaceful Islam and the hateful Christianity:
The example of Mohamed on adultery Sahih Muslim, Book 17: 4206
There came to him (the Holy Prophet) a woman from Ghamid and said: Allah's Messenger, I have committed adultery, so purify me. He (the Holy Prophet) turned her away. On the following day she said: Allah's Messenger, Why do you turn me away? Perhaps, you turn me away as you turned away Ma'iz. By Allah, I have become pregnant. He said: Well, if you insist upon it, then go away until you give birth to (the child). When she was delivered she came with the child (wrapped) in a rag and said: Here is the child whom I have given birth to. He said: Go away and suckle him until you wean him. When she had weaned him, she came to him (the Holy Prophet) with the child who was holding a piece of bread in his hand. She said: Allah's Apostle, here is he as I have weaned him and he eats food. He (the Holy Prophet) entrusted the child to one of the Muslims and then pronounced punishment. And she was put in a ditch up to her chest and he commanded people and they stoned her. Khalid b Walid came forward with a stone which he flung at her head and there spurted blood on the face of Khalid and so he abused her.Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) heard his (Khalid's) curse that he had huried upon her. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Khalid, be gentle. By Him in Whose Hand is my life, she has made such a repentance that even if a wrongful tax-collector were to repent, he would have been forgiven. Then giving command regarding her, he prayed over her and she was buried.
And now contrast Islam with the hateful Christianity:

But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground. Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court. Obama is getting even with all of his perceived enemies. Classic sociopathic behavior.
While this is true, my point was more to illustrate that weapons aren't just lying around hodgepodge on military bases for anyone to get. At the time of my post there had been media reporting( on CNN I think) that made it kind of sound that way.
If this whack job was a civilian attacking from the outside; he probably doesn’t get this far. This A-hole being an Army Major went a long way towards helping him do what he did, before a proper response could be sent.
Great parallell. Christianity is clearly a religion of peace and love like no other. But I must point out one flaw. It’s predicated on the Old Testament and the old law is pretty harsh towards adulterers, too.
