Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting spree at a Texas military base by what officials believe was possibly carried out by an Army officer.
The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.
The shooter was killed and two other suspects, who are also soldiers, have been apprehended, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone said.
The gunman used two handguns, Cone said. He wasn't sure if the shooter reloaded the weapons during the attack.
That’s the whole **** problem! Our soldiers there were unable to defend themselves from this devil, because they weren’t allowed to carry weapons.
This Hasan is a coward- afraid to fight overseas, so he picks on our soldiers when they’re unarmed. What a coward this Islamofascist is!
Pretty much the way it's still done. But of course the point is that the soliders are generally disarmed, except when on the range or training/exercise area. Not only the soliders, but us civilians too, Army and contractors alike. Many of the folks I work with have CHLs, but we can't even take our handguns onto post and lock them up in our vehicles so we could protect ourselves and others once we get back off post.
His neighbor said he lived w/his brother. She assumed it was his brother since they looked alike. Wonder who that was and is he connected to a cell?
Pray for America and Ft Hood
Actually I was able to return to *West* Ft. Hood, after you made that post. Not much after, but a few minutes at least. But not that long afterwards, they locked that part down as well.
I wouldn't have gone back, and didn't expect to be able to, but I'd left my only phone (No land line) on my desk. I knew they'd be trying to call me, and that I'd need to call my wife and daughters.. and my 83 y/o mother too. Which I eventually did.
Banning guns has little to do with safety. It does provide these sorts of whack jobs with an unarmed target zone.
I don’t condemn Muslims— only God can judge (as Jesus said). There are some peaceful Muslims, but the religion is severely flawed. It is not based on the teachings of a truly peaceful man, such as Jesus was, so that’s why many of the Muslims are not peaceful. They are lacking the same true light & love that Jesus taught. Again, we shouldn’t condemn these people because of their religion, but it must be pointed out that Islam tends to embrass violence, rather than love and forgiveness.
Sleep CinC’ing?
For purposes of incidents like this, weapons are banned on military bases. Although they've recently loosed the rules a little, but just to make taking a privately owned weapon onto post to hunt or to target shoot. You still can't be carrying them, not even with a CHL.
Closer to 55. About 40 by helicopter.
NO- how about five thousand, more than 9/11?
I wish. Both for myself, and for those killed or wounded today who would not have been, if just a few of the soldiers and civilians, who were in that processing center, had been armed.

I wonder how many times the words fight, slay, slaughter, etc., appears in the Koran. Some God they’ve got there. Instead of forgive your enemy, it’s slay your enemy. Looks like their “god” is actually Satan to me.
We should encourage member of the military to speak out about everything this traitor said or did. (Before the military leaders tell them to zip it.)
They could always blame their outspoken truths on PTSD.
There are MANY of us who do, some more affected than others. It’s had many names over the centuries: shell-shock; combat fatigue; thousand-yard stare and so forth, but it’s been a part of combat and war since war began.
Mostly it’s what we do to ourselves rather than to others; only VERY rarely will it flow over onto others. Part of it can be how we respond to our spouses, to authority (especially overbearing, self-appointed authoritarians, like liberals or IRS agents or BATFags or drug cops or so-called big government “conservatives” of the type often found here on FR) figures. For the most part we internalize it, we isolate and we have a real hard time with relationships. Over time this does take a toll and we do have a high suicide rate.
I wonder where that six figure income was going or being spent. I guess we’ll know soon enough unless Zero decides to keep everything top secret to protect the guilty (his Muslim buds).
penelopespire, I have to say I’ve had similar thoughts today, thinking “how convenient for the Left that there is something as big as this to take coverage away from what’s going on in Congress now: their powerplay to wrest from the American People a huge chunk of their liberty via this PelosiCare bill.”
I guess we’ve got suspicious minds... but wasn’t it Axelrod or someone in Obama’s Administration that said the best way to get things done is to create chaos? Maybe this Hasan is a devout Leftist who hates our Military. That would make him double dangerous, since he is also a devout Islamofascist. How many like him are in our nation, now?
God be with the family & friends of those murdered today and prayers be with those who have been wounded.
I’m glad you called them El Gato.
I understand what it’s like to watch a critical incident on TV and with no word from your spouse who is in the area of the incident.
Thank you, AmericanInTokyo. Saving hard copies of these incriminating and/or embarrasing things is important. We now have propagandists running our nation. They’re slick, but not slick enough for people like you.
Best wishes.
