Banning guns has little to do with safety. It does provide these sorts of whack jobs with an unarmed target zone.
While this is true, my point was more to illustrate that weapons aren't just lying around hodgepodge on military bases for anyone to get. At the time of my post there had been media reporting( on CNN I think) that made it kind of sound that way.
If this whack job was a civilian attacking from the outside; he probably doesn’t get this far. This A-hole being an Army Major went a long way towards helping him do what he did, before a proper response could be sent.
