ACORN wants people to register to vote as long as theyre Democrats. Republican registrations go into the trash.
Here is a first-hand account of how it happens. In February 2008, Fathiyyah Muhammad of Jacksonville, Florida, heard that ACORN was paying people three dollars for each voter they could register. ACORN paid her three dollars for each voter she registered, but Fatiyyah Muhammad says that the group threw out her votes and fired her when she brought them registrations of Republican voters.
Fathiyyah Muhammad voted for Obama. Im a Republican, she says, and this was the first time that I voted for a Democrat since JFK
. Im one of those rare birds, a black conservative Republican, and actually this is the black conservative capital of the country, Jacksonville, Florida. She is an entrepreneur and a great American: she makes custom caps for her businesses Bilals Custom Caps and Only in America. She and her James have made custom caps for politicians, sports heroes, musicians, and others. America, she says, is the place you can live your dreams if you work at it. Shes a can-do woman with a great American spirit, and when she saw what was breaking in the news about ACORN, she came forward; I interviewed her Monday morning.

No there are certainly black conservatives who voted for Obama. No group is a monolith and people of all political beliefs bought into Obama’s lies.
Some more than others.
Remember after the election how many folks talked about how Obama would be a moderate President? You don’t hear that any more. For the record, I never bought it.
“There are a lot more black conservatives then we think. They are passionate against Obama.”
Bingo!
I’ve been a registered Rupublican for 6 years now. It took 11 years of annual submissions to get registered as Republican. I filed my change of affiliation card 11 years in a row and finally handed the 12th application to the county GOP chairman to hand deliver for me. That worked. Nothing else did. I live in Buffalo, NY.
It makes Michael Steele’s praise for ACORN’s president even more despicable.
She signed up homeless people as Republicans, implying that they told her they were?
Well, I went out and got a lot of people, homeless people, but of course I signed everybody up as a Republican, and I would have put people had they been Democrats.
What (R) would vote for Urkle?
You’re absolutely right. I’m so tired of hearing about how the poor and the elderly have so much trouble registering to vote. Funny, but all the Republican elderly I know don’t have a bit of problems registering to vote. In fact, they have been registered for a very long time. And why does being poor have anything to do with difficulty in registering?
If they don’t outlaw these voter registration groups, then another ACORN will pop up and take up where they left off.
the stink is becoming pretty bad and the winds are shifting and picking up.. and they have no one but themselves to blame for the storm&sh*tfest to come.
I’ll never believe that 0 carried North Carolina and Virginia.
I do. They were blinded by color and more excited about race than principles. They're singing a different tune, now. Me, on the other hand, I'm color blind. I held my nose and voted for McCain.
I know of one. He is a professional that likes to hunt and fish.
What!!! You mean, after all these years, it was a moose???
I am struck dumb!!!
CA....
Lot’s here in Mobile, Alabama!
With our voting system corrupted by ACORN and the Dems we have no option to remove these crooks and save our Country.
Wonder how they will write the history of our demise?
They caught them buying votes with cigarettes, booze and food. even o-bozo shirts to the homeless in Mil-babwe.It was all over the news, but the “law” just laughed it off.
Republicans have been "reaching out" to African-Americans, and people have been responding--often because it is easier for them to rise in the GOP and for the perks.
When 2008 came along almost all turned around and voted for Obama.
That is why shallow partisan recruitment efforts are not what we should be about. Convincing people of conservative values--that's really our job.
And it seems that they have succeeded. Why would anyone have thought that ACORN would do other than trash Republican voter registrations?
Yes. I get annoyed when the Dems set up tables in my neighborhood to register voters and the tables are covered with Dem literature and buttons. I usually tell them it is not right to do that but I get ignored. I would be leery of registering as a Republican at one of those tables.
And those who are proud of themselves for going on a registration drive and registering 20 Republicans and 80 Democrats should also think again. I finally got someone pretty high up in the party to say that unless you are getting four-to-one Republicans, it's not worth the effort.
