As some of you may have noticed, recently the Republican Party has begun cracking down on the "birthers", realizing that openly supporting the most crazy members of your party is, well, problematic for appealing to non-crazy people. This, of course, leads to even more crazy, as they turn on their leaders for hiding the "truth". It's a drat shame to let all this crazy go to waste, when properly cultivated and raised it could be so much more.
So welcome to the first FreeRepublic Infiltration Contest! We're going to infiltrate freerepublic as agents provocateur. This can take several forms; post absurdly insane/racist/whatever drivel and see if you can get people to agree with it. See if you can start a new line of crazy (it might help to have some other people assisting you with this), start the next "Barak Obama is a secret muslim" "Clinton has had dozens of people killed" "let's start an eve online corporation dedicated to the principles of libertarianism, whoops mommy cut me off give me money for rent I can't survive on my own, whoops I stole everything that wasn't nailed down to ebay for rent since I can't survive in the real world, whoops people faxed pictures of my dick to my law firm LIBERTARIANISM FOREVER". It's probably unnecessary even to back up any claims with supportable facts - make them up. Hell, that you can find references elsewhere on the internet might make it seem sketchy to these people, just use the echo chamber effect.
To participate, you need to register your account with me beforehand - this is to prevent people from taking credit for just general-issue nutters. Do this by pm'ing the name to me (and preferably a link to the user profile), or emailing it to me at evilweasel@somethingawful.com. DO NOT POST IT IN THIS THREAD. There's a decent chance that someone will point this thread out to the freeper community, so we want as little information they can use in this thread. This offers another fun thing you can do: successfully convince the community to ban their own members who are not actually goons once they start witch-hunting. Fortunately since many people have made accounts to troll freerepublic in the past, only banning recent registrations won't help them. Also, it's probably best you not use links to free republic from here to get to the site in case they catch on and start looking at referrers to find the plants.
Winners will receive praise, adulation, and potentially fabulous prizes. Losers will bear the shame of being outwitted by the dumbest people on the internet. Screenshot successes and email them (and a link) to me. Since posting them might blow your cover, I'll be holding on to them for a month or two.
Marks of success: Getting non-goons banned as infiltrators Getting genuine posters to agree to the most absurd things possible Getting a sucessful chain email/conspiracy theory started ect Remember if you get caught you just got outwitted by the dumbest people on the internet.
ATTENTION: Do not do anything illegal or that would get the law involved, as hilarious as it might seem to get all of free republic arrested by the secret service you'll get swept up too and that'd really be a pain in the rear end for everyone so just don't do it. Do not break the law, it will neither be funny nor be rewarded, just don't do it.

There ARE some who’ve been registered here since the late 90s who are nothing but trolls. I won’t call them “FReepers” simply because they are registered. They seem to come out only at election time or when something controversial like the bc issue arises. Then they crawl back under their rocks.

I recall a white supremacist/anti-zionist group. Stormfront.org? Something along those lines. It was about 4 years ago that a FReeper busted them and announced it in a thread similar to this one.
No doubt in my mind that WOSG is a sleeper troll.
The FR community, Freepdom, could better assist the mods in identifying and policing threads for trolls and infiltrators if the user name also had join date and # of posts displayed. Maybe John Thompson could work on that.

Yeah I’ve noticed. Outside of FR the journalists who find so much need to attack Birthers did not seem to feel such a great need to attack the 9-11 Truthers which represented a huge part of the Democrat party which was very destructive. As for the birth certificate thing as well as all the other documents it is a valid reasonable demand from the citizenry. Who is Barack Obama? Why does he refuse to authorize even a copy of the vault Birth Certificate if there if so many people have observed it. It is pretty easy to get a copy of ones original birth cert in most places. I do believe Barack is a citizen I just don’t understand why he refuses to release so much information.
You can be certain that if this was reversed the left would be even more animated in their efforts to get such documents released. It certainly doesn’t help that Barack’s granny stated he was born in Kenya though I have come to believe that was probably a misstatement. Asking him to clear up these questions is reasonable. He does act like a Socialist African Dictator and I don’t mean that to be racist in any way it is a valid observation or is it only ok to compare him to nice people of color? He seems to believe even more so than any other President (even with all the allegations thrown at President Bush) that the law does not apply and that he can recreate the government to serve him.
They spread all kind of whole cloth lies and rumors about Sarah Palin. Right now they are spreading that she is about to get a divorce. They spread a lie that was parroted throughout the newsmedia about whether Trig was really her baby. They have a whole slew of new crap they are planning to throw at her. I think it is time to start publishing names and pictures of the mudrackers. It is time to respond.
The left started this fight. The birther idea is a legitimate issue and speaks to the question what is Barrack Obama hiding where as the left and its allegations are really crazy whack job kook crap but CNN and others don’t talk about how nutty they are.
Wow that is really sad that none of them have anything else to do but create false identities and spend days trying to cause drama. Here I thought only teenaged girls liked to do that? Who knew liberal men also enjoy the same things and explains a lot about why I could always identify a liberal make a mile away!
