Half of our laws are illegal already. The problem is that our congress critters don’t care and the SCOTUS doesn’t declare constitutionality unless someone manages to bring a court case up to them....in which case they can just deny hearing it. Or with a majority whack job liberal will find some non-existant right not actually there.
I seem to remember that when President Bush and Homeland Security came up with the TIPS concept that would give people a way to report potential terrorist activity, the RATS were apoplectic. They compared this to the Gestapo...even saying that “Homeland” sounded like “Fatherland”...and they compared Bush to Hitler, when his aim was simply to protect the nation from another 9/11.
And this concept of Obama’s is OK WITH THEM??????

Don't look now, but for the past few years, local sheriff and police depts have been getting free or next too it - TANKS and other up-armored vehicles. "For Rescue" many more S.W.A.T teams than are needed...-
WE have National Guard that can supply such heavy equipment if needed., the sheriff/police dept.s do not need them.
They have planned against a civilian defense...
The scary part is not that he wants a civilian national security force (heck, that phrase could be used to describe the FBI or the DHS) but the fact that he says he wants them to be just as powerful and just as well-funded.
A civilian force...presumably operating here in the good ol’ US of A...that’s as powerful as the mightiest military in world history and has a budget of hundreds of billions of dollars. Yeah, that couldn’t be abused. /sarc
