Fox News is announcing that Tony Snow has died.
Heartbreaking news.
DU,+just+plain+stupid!
Good night everyone.
Goodbye, Tony!
We had to go out this evening. What e-mail?
Mike Emanuel was talking about an email Tony sent to him as Mike was in the hospital after his wife gave birth:
Tony’s email to Mike Emanuel on the birth of his daughter:
Let’s just say that the emotional development of the girl is far more complex and involved than the emotional development of the boys...and that you will spend considerable time in years to come listening to your wife and daughter talk about the travails of girldom...only to find yourself slack-jawed with incomprehension, trying to nod appreciatively while saying to yourself, Whuh??? I don’t understand any of this!!
What a good and humble man. God bless Tony Snow.
I hope through his struggle many can be motivated to get checked for this horrible disease - get it now, and get it much earlier than 50!!
Tony had such dignity and enthusiasm throughout his illness - I went through a 10 year battle with Crohn's and colitis and finally lost my colon to suspected early cancer. I am thankful I avoided my brush with it, but boy, that operation isn't easy to get over.
His positive attitude and hope were an inspiration to me, and the way he conducted himself and his life professionally and with his familiy will be the legacy he will leave to us all.
You fought the good fight, Tony. Hope you're playing some good tunes up there in Heaven. :)
I haven't posted all day but have been reading the thread...this hits home for me.
Just a couple of weeks after Tony was first diagnosed with cancer; my Dad was as well (he was 62). My Dad really liked Tony, and I know it gave him some inspiration to know that someone else was going through it as well...particularly when Tony was back on the air after his first surgery.
Sadly, Dad died in July of 2005. I have been following this closely ever since; and was saddened today to discover that he had lost his battle. Cancer is an evil too often visited upon wonderful people.
Prayers to his wife and children; I'm so glad that his family had this extra time with him.
How do I see what he posted?
Me too. My Father was 62, 5’9, 80 lbs. and I could not look at skeletons for years afterwards. A National Geographic magazine came out soon after he died with a hologram type skeleton on the cover which I could not handle looking at. He died the day after Halloween in 1985.
Tony’s passing has my mother thinking of my father 23 yrs. ago, still like yesterday sometimes...she thinks after he was first diagnosed in ‘65 and given a year to live, what gave him an extra 20 yrs. was that he was given no chemo or radiation since his doctor thought he would die. When he had another attack in ‘68 he still received no chemo or radiation. She said since he hadn’t gone 5 yrs. they did not give chemo thinking he would die again. Last attack was in ‘83, colostomy, chemo, radiation and bad doctoring (botched surgery, dr. forgot to put in a drainage tube) was his final fight.
My father’s mother also died when he was a young boy, 10 or 11. When he was delirious on morphine he was thanking his mother for what was happening to him.
My heart is broken, too. I lost my (far too young) dad to cancer just over a year ago, and this hits really close to home. My dad was similar to Tony in many ways...Christian, loving, intelligent, friendly, encouraging, and a staunch conservative.
I hope the two of them are visiting over coffee as I type.
Sorry about your grandma.
Great idea, Tony would love it.

I could have typed the exact post but replaced “dad” with “mom.” I was with her when she died and a day doesn’t go by I don’t think of her, or my dad who died in 2002. I’m so sorry for your loss.
RIP Tony.
Prayers *UP* for his family.
Oh OK, I thought they had a place to e-mail Jill and the kids.
Tony? The Desk called in your new assignment, and it’s a big one...
rumour has it the Streets are made of Gold.
I was away from the computer Saturday. Checking FR now and came across this sad news.
Prayers for and condolences to Tony Snow’s widow, children, family, and friends.
May Tony rest in God’s peace. He shall be missed.
