Romney has withdrawn and asked his delegates to support McCain.
A triumph in compassless, status-quo-”conservatism!”
Vote Romney in 2012 — for some reason which may not even be known to him!
We can count on Mitt Romney to do... something! (Depending on whichever way his wind blows, one day or the next.)
Wasn’t trying to offend, just making light. My apologies.
ROFLOL!!
No, Romney is just Romney — the politician on casters.
Kind of mixed. I really like his smooth, affable persona and his socially conservative positions. I’m not so crazy about some of the things he said in a very subtle way such as his remarks to impugn Romney’s religious beliefs. I’m almost tempted to use the word slick to describe how smoothly he knows how to slip the knife in sometimes.
I’m also not too keen on some of the knocks against him on immigration and some questions on his fiscal conservatism. Finally, there is the pragmatic problem of electability in light of his vulnerability in blue states over his strong evangelical ties. Please, realize, I am not bothered by it, but it’s a fact of life that he’d have a hard time taking a number of battleground states or crossovers which are necessary in today’s electoral calculus.
I’ve encountered it several times on this forum. They’re self-righteous idiots.
When will Romney make his endorsement or has he made it already?
I was merely joking as well. Surely you do not believe that I honestly meant what I said re:Southern Baptists seriously?
Some of these photo shop guys should get a McBorg pic up with the tag.
RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!
Consider that fact for a moment (and without getting nauseous, if possible) and then tell me it's totally inconceivable that conservatives will revolt or at least make a pro forma effort to find someone else at this point in the election cycle (nine months away from Election Day). The only thing that makes it even a 1000-1 shot at this point is that we hate our own candidate.
actually Romney has now totally destroyed Huckabee. The fact he did it today when Huckabee is on the cayman islands is just to add insult to injury.
You can whine all you want, but this is the logic and it comes from the Bible, and if you don’t like it, that’s fine, just don’t lie about me and what I believe.
---- Ok, I am sorry but I am laughing. My definition came from a legal dictionary. Dispute it if you want.
Whining LOLOLOLO.
I am not lying about what is taught by LDS.
Oh, never mind....believe what you want about me, I really do not care.
Your Biblical "logic" is twisted and convoluted.
That stated, McCain almost definitely has cinched the nomination now.
no
McCain is less than 100 away if the Romney delegates all follow the lead....
“Romney`s record shows he supported liberal issues and liberal causes his entire life.”
Once again, it appears you didn’t bother to check Romney’s record yourself. I lived in Massachusetts and I know he’s conservative, which was why he got my vote.
But don’t take my word for it — take Tancredo’s on the issue of illegal immigration (and why he endorsed Romney):
“The contrast between Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney on the subject of illegal immigration is best seen by their actions and words on two issues as governor.
“Mike Huckabee supported in-state tuition rates and college scholarships for illegal aliens. Mitt Romney vetoed legislation that would have given in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens.
“Mike Huckabee supported driver licenses for illegal aliens. Mitt Romney opposed driver licenses for illlegal aliens.”
That’s just one issue. There was also, for instance, the marriage amendment which Romney proposed and tried to get passed in Mass. to stop gay marriage, though it lost by 2 votes because of the liberal legislature. Not to mention the fact that Romney lobbied Congress for a Federal marriage amendment in 2005, at the same time that McCain was opposing it and Huckabee did nothing.
Being a governor of Massachusetts doesn’t automatically mean he’s a liberal. Romney certainly isn’t liberal at all, but I believe he won the governorship anyway only because the state was in a financial mess and he was well known there for being a very good businessman.
“When will Romney make his endorsement or has he made it already?”
Special “floaty” shoes, LOLO - never heard that before.
“The Romney delegates aren’t obligated to vote for who Romney endorses, are they?
no”
