Thank you Oorang.
I’ve missed quite a lot of news in the past weeks and so I’m very thankful that you pinged me to this local news.
That truck was stolen from the northern end of Lancaster County...PA turnpike entrance less than 5 miles away.

Thank you for the link and ping.
Three oil trucks were reported stolen on Dec. 2 and 3 in Center Moriches, Hauppauge and Bohemia.
4th Precinct officers found an abandoned oil truck that was allegedly stolen from All Island Fuel in Center Moriches on Dec. 2. Police recovered the vehicle before it was reported stolen by an employee of All Island Fuel but not before 1,500 gallons were taken from the truck. The vehicle was impounded and returned to the company.
The owner of Hirsch Fuels in Hauppauge called Suffolk police that morning, reporting that his 1999 International Oil tanker truck containing 2,131 gallons of home heating oil had been stolen. At 6:15 p.m. that day Seventh Patrol officers found the truck in Mastic Beach on Neighborhood Road.
Theft probe leads to N. VA storage site
An investigative trail littered with gold-colored AK-47s, documents labeled "CLASSIFIED" and pistols purported to have been given as gifts to Saddam Hussein led federal investigators here: a Manassas storage center.
Atlantic Self Storage, nestled between Interstate 66 and Route 234, sits across from a Super 8 Motel and is little more than rows of rust-colored garage doors leading to individual units. But according to court documents filed recently in Prince William County, one of the storage units may hold clues for a federal investigation spanning the country.
Suspect in cop slaying in custody
An AK-47 was found at the scene. Police were comparing it with bullets taken from Walker's body to see if they matched.

Woman's identity stolen at car dealership
A woman used her position with a local car dealership to steal a customers identity and run up a big credit tab, according to arrest warrant affidavits.
The affidavits give the following details: A woman told police Aug. 1 that after she bought a vehicle, her personal information was stolen by an employee of a car dealership. The affidavits did not name the dealership.
Yes, it is sad.
You’re welcome for the ping and a blessed New Year to you.
Thank you Mama Dearest.
Noting the oil trucks are recovered, but the fuel was not.
From the Washington post article you linked to MamaDearest in post no. 426:
Article snippet: “Maziarz had worked in an intelligence center in Fallujah, Iraq, from February to May 2006, according to the documents. He was also assigned to a program administered by the National Security Agency and had access to information classified as the “ ‘Top Secret’ level and higher,” the papers said.”
I hear you.
I’m pretty comfortable with the 5 and below earthquakes.

“Report: oil, LNG tankers vulnerable”
By H. JOSEF HEBERT, Associated Press Writer
Wed Jan 9, 7:17 PM ET
WASHINGTON -
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “While the GAO cited no specific terrorist threat to a vessel or U.S. port, the report said “the threat of seaboard terrorist attacks on maritime energy tankers and infrastructure is likely to persist,” with the greatest risks at shipping chokepoints far from U.S. shores.
But it also said the United States “has limitations” in its ability to head off a terrorist plot overseas and that actions taken in U.S waters and ports “carry increased importance.””

By KHALED ABU TOAMEH
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Thursday launched a rocket attack on the local American International School in protest against US President George W. Bush’s visit to the Palestinian territories.

No one was hurt in the pre-dawn attack, but eyewitnesses said large parts of the school were damaged by an RPG mortar, as well as other explosive devices.
This is the second time that the school has come under attack in the past few months. The previous attack occurred in April, when arsonists set fire to the school building in the northern Gaza Strip.
No group claimed responsibility for Thursday’s attack, which came only hours after several Palestinian groups called on Palestinians to kill Bush.”

“Bush Appeals for ‘Year of Creation of Peace’ in Mideast”
Thursday, January 10, 2008
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “RAMALLAH, West Bank President Bush on Thursday predicted that a Mideast peace treaty would be completed by the time he leaves office. He said he’s convinced that both Israeli and Palestinian leaders understand “the importance of democratic states living side by side” in peace.
“I am confident that with proper help, the state of Palestine will emerge.” Bush told Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. “And I’m confident when it emerges, it will be a major step toward peace. I am confident that the status quo is unacceptable, Mr. President, and we want to help you.”
Abbas, standing alongside Bush, called on Israel to fulfill its commitments to a Mideast peace plan, and said he hopes “this will be the year for the creation of peace.””

“Mortars, Kassam Rocket Attacks Greet Bush”
by Hana Levi Julian
(IsraelNN.com)
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “By evening, at least 15 mortars and Kassam rockets had rained down on southern Israel, with many hitting the besieged city of Sderot.
Three people in the city were rushed to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon after an attack late in the afternoon. One of the victims was a 17-year-old girl who was hit in the hand by shrapnel. A 60-year-old man complained of chest pains, and a third person fell and was injured while running for cover from the incoming missiles.”
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The attacks began well before Bush’s midday arrival in Israel, with the first barrage of five rockets and shells slamming into Sderot at 8:00 a.m., when many Israeli children were going to school and their parents were going to work.
One of the missiles slammed into a house, landing in a young child’s bedroom. Miraculously, the three-week-old baby was in his mother’s arms in the shelter to which she ran when the Color Red alert siren wailed. Three people were treated for shock in the aftermath of the attack, including the boy’s mother.”
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The Salah a-Din Brigades, a terror gang under the banner of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist group, claimed responsibility for the morning’s attacks.”

“Suicide bombing in Lahore, Pakistan claims 22 dead”
By BILL ROGGIOJanuary 10, 2008 3:50 AM
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Pakistan has suffered yet another suicide bombing in one of its major cities. A suicide bomber targeted police stationed outside of the Lahore High Court in the provincial capital of Punjab. At least 22 police and civilians were killed and 70 wounded in the attack.
The blast was described as “powerful.” Geo News reported the attack was conducted by a suicide bomber wearing a vest.”
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The bombing comes just days after Pakistani security services arrested the leader and five members of a Lahore-based suicide cell. Ahsan al Haq and five cell members were arrested for complicity in the November Sargodha Air Force Base suicide bombing which claimed the lives of eight Pakistanis. Al Haq, the cell leader, was a former Pakistani Army major who operated a terrorist training camp in Afghanistan prior to the ouster of the Taliban in late 2001.
The arrest of al Haq and his cell may have activated other related cells. The Lahore suicide bombing may also be a retaliatory strike for the detention of the cell.”
