I’m not sure that there is a simple Yes or No answer to this. My gut feeling is that for most the answer is probably “No”, but that there are some who are enough “in the middle” that they can kind of go in either direction.

It’s a dumb poll. Why would they want to change if they like what they are doing? It should have said “do you believe homosexuality is hereditary or is it learned behavior?”

Could they clap their hands and change their orientation? No. Is homosexual behavior a product of environment and mindset, as opposed to genetic inheritance? Largely yes. Can a mentally healthy person refrain from homosexual acts? Absolutely.

I don't care about orientation (though I do think it can be changed). What I would like to see is a change in their behavior -- and I know that people can change that.

Homosexual acts are wrong. The lifestyle is wrong.

Ask a gay person if they are willing to give up their way of life in exchange for being straight. The answer is usually a resounding 'no'. However, it is also a resounding admission that they have a choice.

Homosexuality is a behavior. It is a learned behavior. It is an addictive behavior.

Can a drug addict change their ways if they wanted to? Can an alchoholic change his ways if he wanted to? Can a porn addict change his ways if he wanted to? Substitute as many addictive behaviors as you want into the question.

I believe homosexuality is caused by human’s perversion of something that God created to be good and “normal”. The same question could be asked: “do you think a rapist could stop raping if he wanted to?” humans have gone so far in their “sensual/sexual” desires and they always want more… more… more… greed perverts. You might also ask: “can a man have sex with just one woman for the rest of his life?”… the answer is yes he can… does he want to? Usually “no”. and the more of the “forbidden fruit” that he has… the more he wants… a little “freakier” each time… a little more “perverse” the next time… then it’s perverted (in some jacked up cases) all the way to children and even to animals….
