Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?

Well, to many of them, it’s about stripping the conservative Religious Right from the GOP. How they think they can win as liberals is beyond me, but apparently that’s what they believe. And many of them are so fearful of Hillary that they’re willing to accept a liberal just like her because he’s a Republican and they believe the propaganda that he’s the ONLY one who can defeat Hillary. Now that’s defeatism. What happened to fighting for your core values?

This has got to be the longest thread I’ve ever seen in all my years on FR. (Maybe some have been longer, but I’ve not taken note of those.)
On-topic: I’d only vote for Rudy if he somehow wins the nomination AND if the Dem nominee is, as I expect, HillObamEdwards. (But I already voted that way in the sidebar poll.) Talk about holding your nose!

WHOO HOOOO!!!
Thank YOU Gramma!!
We are witnesses to one of the great conservative revivals in memory, IMHO.
And it's happening right here on Free Republic.
If faux so-called 'conservatives' who support abortionist, adulterous, gun-grabbing, homo-loving RINOs like Rudy Giuliani think they can commandeer FR to promote their liberal-in-Reagan's-clothing, they are sadly mistaken.
'Come to the light RudyBots, come to the light!'
DO you SEE the LIGHT?!??!?
Dare I say it? You bet I do.
"We're on a mission from God"
The mission?
To make sure an amoral, baby-murdering puke like Rudy Giuliani NEVER makes it to the White House!

Getting rid of the liberals, and the hand-wringers, is a pruning of infection and dead wood from an otherwise flourishing tree. Would this be a good time to purge the libertines who defend porn and drugs from FreeRepublic ?
I hate their comments and their ideas are poisonous.

To all of you people calling for civility. Why did that call not come when the fktards that were running down conservatives to boost Giuliani, started this battle with Jim Robinson and the FR site?
Maybe some of you would like to tell our troops fighting the jihadists to “be civil”. Because this battle for ideas and ideology that is going on in the GOP and in conservative ranks is very very important. Don’t naievely expect the quiver of arrows to be made of rubber suction tubes, wheter it comes from a pen or a keystroke.

I made remarks about both Registered and the grunt. I was generally complimentary of Registered even when he wasn't towards me. I regret that registered chose to FReepercide himself. I didn't "run him down" and few, if anyone else did either.
I also made a remark about the grunt.
"68grunt also proved it long ago...about 40 years back when much younger and he deserves our thanks for that service."
Kudos to him for his service. I'm not sure what you believe the grunt ever proved or contributed. Maybe if you go back far enough one could find something worthwhile - I never found anything that offset the pure nasty that he spread around. That doesn't change the fact that he was an a-hole. Good riddance to bad rubbish. From the wealth of similar posts I've seen he made far more enemies than friends.
The most interesting phenomenon I've seen in this thread is that, soon after another wave of FReepers fly into the zapper, the tone of the conversation lifts. Then another wave appears, full of indignation and spoiling for a fight.
I've been watching the unfolding saga with amazement and wonder when folks are going to "get it"...

I'm really beginning to wonder just how much of the conservative movement many of them embraced. I never had any doubts about that at any point, actually. Words mean things, and the vast majority tipped their hands long ago as far as I'm concerned.
The last seven years have been a constant battle to keep them from dragging FR too far leftwards.
Amen to that.

Im seeing growth and renewed enthusiasm.
Absolutely.
Ive lurked long enough that I think my perception is also reality.
There are lots of freepers who have been only lurking and afraid to post because of that gang of harpies demeaning and antagonizing anyone who was a prinipled conservative.
Can you imagine coming to this site for the first time with those folks on the prowl, looking for people to call a stupid, idiot newbie?
Maybe we'll attract alot more conservatives.
