Well, to many of them, it’s about stripping the conservative Religious Right from the GOP. How they think they can win as liberals is beyond me, but apparently that’s what they believe. And many of them are so fearful of Hillary that they’re willing to accept a liberal just like her because he’s a Republican and they believe the propaganda that he’s the ONLY one who can defeat Hillary. Now that’s defeatism. What happened to fighting for your core values?
Establishing with clarity where FR stands on this issue as regards Rudy and the desire and push for many to run of the conservative cliff in supporting him is something, as I have said, I am glad to see.
And...in the end, it will make FR stronger, and be an example for the GOP to look to and immulate in returning to those core values thatd efine us as a people and a nation.
That some of the former members of this forum are coming out and indicating that those core values are "dead", or that those days are over, is sad...and a betrayal of the core moral principles upon which this nation was founded IMHO.
A sad day, but one I suppose that sooner or later had to come given the huge differences in moral underpinnings.
If allowed to mature without clear and unambiguous opposition to fruition, with a Rudy candidacy, the GOP would not even be able to be called DNC-lite IMHO. It would have transmorphed itself into the very thing it opposed on principle for so many years.
