Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

“This whole episode here went way beyond typical, pragmatic -and friendly - debate a while ago.”

I don’t remember pragmatic and friendly. Where’d you come up with that?

Reading back through this elephantine thread, it is immediately and irrefutably clear that -- in virtually every instance -- the recipients of ZOTtings have behaved no less abominably than the visiting house guest who brusquely commandeers the contents of your liquor cabinet; vomits noisily into the aquarium; and (when rightfully instructed by their host to cease such loutish behavior) spits curses at the wife and children.

Good analogy, and what would make it worse, is if this person had been your friend for years, comes into your house with a smile and then proceeds to trash you, not only in front of your wife and kids but the entire world. Not very nice and unconcionable. I have little respect for people like that.

American White House Evolution 1980 - 2008

Wow, look at the difference between Reagan and Julie Annie. I think we are sinking! We are on the Titanic and the Republicans are about to throw us an anchor!

The dems (Edwards) said in debate ...there is no Global WOT... You say there is no purge I say you are both wrong

Then we will agree to disagree. The record is there--all 13,000+ posts. Juvenile rants, attacks, lying and/or mischaracterizing facts about Reagan and other Republican candidates, etc. Earlier, I characterized it this way:

...I look at this more as the firing of an employee for attacking and harrassing co-workers, lying to customers, and/or sabotaging the company product—in this case conservatism. That’s my take, anyway.
FWIW, I also disagree with Edwards.

"If Thompson or Hunter don’t win the primary, and Giuliani does, then what happens?"

The answer is that it is incumbent upon every Republican and every conservative to make certain that this scenario doesn't happen...

(there is no reason that it should)

"Does FR go third party (Keyes) and in turn give the presidency to the Dems?"

That's my guess, although Keyes is not well respected here. OTOH, if Hunter, Thompson, or some other "conservative" candidate is nominated, I'm guessing that all the departed and banned freepers of the last couple days will vote for whomever that is. They are not liberals or socialists, as so many gleefully assert.

If McCain is nominated, God knows what everyone'll do.

You really don’t like us Christians do you? You just want us in the back seat, which is the same as the back of the bus, and to give up our convictions to support jerkwads like Giuliani.

That’s a really reasonable request there, guy. It amounts to “Shut up and do what we tell you.”

I’ve told you before, Christian conservatives are not all monolithic. Demeaning them earns you nothing here, certainly very little goodwill.

Don’t get me wrong, there were several Jim went after with deliberate intent but I look at it as the “battered wife syndrome”. How many times do you take it before you say you’ve had enough and fight back. Overall, it’s been painful to watch but for the best in the long run. I have yet to see one person zotted that I would have missed (except Fierce Allegience and I probably don’t have the whole story there).

I just love people who pretend to be Christians, while they ar being as mean and nasty as humanly possible. It’s such a wonderful example of Christian living.

“They are not liberals or socialists, as so many gleefully assert.”

Supporting the most liberal GOP candidate in the Primary, they certainly have no claim as a conservative, so what are they?

I always love it when people, usually secular haters, try this argument. “Yes, we will stand here and be meek, turn the other cheek in the arena of politics.....render to Ceasar....”

"Then the GOP could no longer say that it was anything close to being a conservative Party. In addition they have to go Plank rippin for several years. Anybody who supports Giuliani right now in the Primary, cannot consider themselves conservatives."

OK, I tend to agree with you. However, my question still remains:

If Thompson or Hunter don’t win the primary, and Giuliani does, then what happens? Does FR go third party (Keyes) and in turn give the presidency to the Dems?

“When you use tactics like that, you simply lose credibility. But leave it to a fool to become more foolish in the face of wisdom”

She said that the man in her house takes stronger stands than she does, I would like to hear if he thinks JR and FR are being too hubbie like, or if he thinks FR is acting on it’s stated purpose by promoting conservatives over Giuliani.
