We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?

“I’ve got to catch up to HOW MANY posts!”
LOL...
The dungenous crab meat was kind of bland and stringy. Blue crab is much more meaty with big lumps of meat and the taste is very sweet. You should take me up on the bet because the blue crab is worth it. However the fresh salmon I found like a circus in my mouth.
I took the ferry from Seattle to Victoria one year with a friend. Victoria is a beautiful place, and oh so quaint. Your description of the blue crabs has me convinced that I have to try it someday. Have you ever had Copper River Reds (salmon)? We're not far from the Copper River and have friends with fish wheels. One year we were given so many Copper River Reds I was able to fill half of our chest freezer and then some, and also give them away to friends and family. They are superb!
In a word, No.
Ah, salmon!
But ah, Blue Crabs, too....
One of my best memories is going out with my hubby and kids on a fishing charter. Half the people got seasick, youngest son included. But oldest son caught about the biggest chinook taken that day.
I made sure I took my dramamine. Next time, I’ll bring some ginger beer, too. Then those fishes better watch out!
Maximus ask much the same thing earlier...my response.
IMO...Apparently the owner didnt think that Bush was conservative enough. (Miers, borders, CFR, spending seem to confirm that btw) But I think most would have put Bush in the moderate/conservative area with his passionate conservatism.
Giuliani on the other hand is no where close to being a moderate, he is liberal on a littany of areas. I honestly believe Giuliani will not win the nomination and it wont even be close. But if he did win my impression (just an opinion) is that the owner will not join with Giuliani and liberalism. My hope is that the GOP comes to there senses and gets off the bandwagon that takes us over a cliff to being a plus size Democrat Party. I think that 3rd Parties could gain more attention if this happens but I think ultimately this site will include primarily Republicans and that is the large foundation of the conservative movement. Having said that, Giuliani being head of the Party for 4 years would obviously see many, as I would see myself, as part of the loyal opposition. Whether I stay in the Party or leave, Ill still attend local GOP meetings to work for conservatism.
That’s what we offer: opportunity. If not for you, for your children.
How many other places in the world can say that? Not very many.
Copper River Reds for Blue crabs? What was the bet again? When the conversation turns to food, I’m all about food.
I’ve no time to catch up on the thread, but it looks like there are still lemmings jumping off. Have all the worst liberals gone yet, or are some of them still waiting their turns?
The dems are doing a good job of beating up on a number of Rudy’s weak points right now, including his real weaknesses on the WOT flag he’s trying to wrap himself in. If we stand firm, and make it clear what he stands for on key conservative issues, his name recognition value really will start to go down.
I never go on a charter without taking a dose of dramamine first. I’ve seen others suffer horribly. They say that one should also keep their eye on the skyline rather than looking down into the waves in rough water. Makes sense to me.
One year, off the coast of Oregon, we were on a charter and the waves got so bad we had to turn back. A friend of mine was using the toilet on the boat and I was standing in front of the curtain that provided the privacy factor, and every now and then she’d come flying out and I’d be there to push her back. LOL
I don’t even remember for sure what the bet was. Like you, my mind wandered to FOOD! LOL
I agree entirely
You might want to look at your local bookstore or science library - there are actually mult books by hard core scientists with scientific evidence to support creation over evolution - quite a eyeopener for me as I was taught only evolution even in Christian colleges
There is a lot of info people choose to ignore, it “can’t” be science if it happens to support religion.
In a friendly bet, I’m betting that Giuliani does not win the nomination...2 dozen crabs for some Reds lol, are we on (I realize you’re not a Giuliani primary supporter, but I feel totally confident he doesn’t win)
Yep, If the Dems manage to chink through his WOT armor, there won’t be alot of solid support behind him except for the most radical of GOP libs...the Chafee types.
I really have no business on this thread as I have no expertise or solution to the problem. It just seems that we passively ‘wait’ for candidates to self-select. That leaves the field to narcissists, power-seekers, professional, local, State and Federal politicians.
Our universities are not producing conservative leaders - the military establishment appears to be the only default sanctum having any potential for leaders with ethics, integrity and patriotic purpose i.e. sovereignty. But that military background has not been infallible. i.e. Colin Powell, Wesley Clark, John McCain, and don’t even go John Kerry, Jack Murtha.
We have created the ultimate Hollywood, TV casting mentality for the most important role on Earth and it ain’t working. Candidates don’t just show up like June bugs.
Somewhere in this vast land there’s the perfect POTUS, a marine veteran, on a farm in Kentucky, deacon in his church, with common sense and love of country, running for County supervisor. He’ll have to spend the next 20-30 years graduating from State Senator to Governor. We don’t have that long. Is he in the building?
You’re saying that allele frequency does not change over time?
Let me see 'em when you're done. : ) I saw this thread when it first started out, but hadn't gone back. I had no idea there were 12,000+ posts!
