Rush reports that a Cessna has been reported as crashing into (at least one) apartment complex in NYC Mannhattan's upper east side - on East 71st Street.
The building it hit is surrounded by buildings.
remember shortly after 9/11 there was a small cesna that crashed in tampa? That was just a disturbed individual.
Somehow a cesna does not seem like much of a weapon.
So true. The Clinton clan will be blowing in as soon as the motorcade can be arranged.
Hmm. That's weird.
Earlier today, I was watching Fox news, and on the scroll at the bottom was the fact that the guy who killed John Lennon was up for parole, but was denied.
Well I would hope so with Houston being 4th largest city.....not to mention target rich, eh?
Never too old to learn!
A small plane crashed into a Tampa building a few years ago. The guy was on drugs.
What are the stats on the numbers of planes that have hit high rises IN NYC in the last 50 years??
I saw someone on the bus yesterday opening the shrink wrap on a book called All About Radiation.
My friend is OK I just found out.
WalMart's are open 24/7 everywhere!!!
The pilot?
Reposting someone else's post on this thread. Said local news was reporting it.
I don't listen to 950 (outside of Rush and maybe a little Savage) so I don't get the 740AM "news" (their traffic and weather updates were both bad during the Rita evacuation and their city coverage seems always to be ra-ra downtown business establishment).
I guess channel 2,11,13 are also reporting it as a newsflash. I don't watch them either. Same problems as 740 (although Channel 11 is good with weather). Ch 26 and 39 don't have news until 9pm.
I agree. Not a terribly high-profile target, an apartment house, but better than nothing to a crazed Muzzie.
Isn't Marymount College's city campus near there?
yes, but who know - it may have been some target of opportunity. we don't know who the pilot is yet.
Careful.
All we need are copycat Cessna coming from every direction.
Yes, Wow! A Pilot could not have just accidently hit the building by observing the obstructed approachs to those sides of the building and the relatively low altitude.
Mystery writer Carol Higgins Clark lives in the building. She wasn't home at the time.
The Hospital for Special Surgery main building is actually across the street. The hospital uses the lower floors of this building as a hotel for families with patients in the hospital. There may be some hospital admin offices in the building as well. The top floors are condos I think.
If there are wounded to be treated one of the best hospitals in the world is right there thank God.
