I have been a Freeper since sometime in 1996. (Followed link from Drudge to Whitewater Files.) I lurked for several years, then signed on as EastTexAnn. I buried my computer after a slow and painful death, then had to wait for a replacement. I forgot my password and just lurked for a while. Lord of the Rings had just been released and prompted the choice of the new name. So myprecious is just a new name for an veteran Freeper.
