My Fellow FReepers,
As it now past midnight (well at least for those of us in Central Standard Time) and I did a general search and couldn't find a single thread dedicated to election 2005, I have taken the liberty of creating one.
THIS is the place to post all your updates and discussions on '05 races around the country. From the Boston Mayoral Race to the fight for Virginia Attorney General, keep the adrenaline flowing here.
Will the GOP make a midterm gubernatorial comeback after suffering through the 2001 "mistakes" of McGreeley and Mark Warner? Will Ahnuld, the CA Dummycrats, or independent minded conservatives emerge triumph in California's latest (but not greatest!) "special election"? Will the liberal incumbent crush his equally liberal challenger in New York? And do conservatives even care?
Let's get the discussion rolling folks. You heard it here first!

Someone else posted this one I am watching.
The numbers weren't reversed, but appear to have been offset by one column.
If one looks at the Shenandoah County results by precinct, one sees this:
Kilgore - Kaine - Potts - Write-In
__0____325____162___19___
(sorry this isn't formatted better - I'm not an HTML expert)
Obviously, Mr. Kilgore didn't receive 0 votes, and obviously, Mr. Potts didn't receive over 30% of the votes. What's happened is that the votes have been shifted one column to the right.
Mr. Kilgore, with one precinct reporting in Shenandoah County, is getting about 64% of the vote.
I don't know where these numbers are coming from.

little too soon to think that.
Okay, I had to look it up. VA has 95 counties, and Russell County is in the far southwest corner of the state, about 350 miles from me. I have no idea what goes on there.
OK, I know I am going to sound stupid here. But how can Leslie Byrne be leading for Lt. Gov. as Kilgore is leading for Governor? Who is going to vote Kilgore for Governor and Leslie Byrne as Lt. Gov.? I can't even imagine the mindset of someone who would vote that way! How is that possible?

yikes.
WAY too soon. Some encouraging signs, but Kaine looks like he is actually running ahead of Warner in some places as well.
Fairfax must be coming in.
Fairfax is in - 60% for Kaine.

Funny business going on with the reported numbers.
Kilgore was up 309K to 246K, then two minutes later, Kaine is up 274K to 250K.
We'll need to find out what happened there.
See #259. Did you make a mistake here? Both of you cannot be right.
Thank goodness. That is one county I do NOT want to be left hanging out there when the last few results start coming in.
Very discouraging Earl won Chesterfield county by 15 percent and Kilgore won by only 8 percent. Kaine won
Kaine up by 7 now uddenly
