Official Election Day 2005 Watch [Live Thread]
Shameless Vanity Post | November 8, 2005 | BillyBoy

Posted on 11/07/2005 11:46:41 PM PST by BillyBoy

My Fellow FReepers,

As it now past midnight (well at least for those of us in Central Standard Time) and I did a general search and couldn't find a single thread dedicated to election 2005, I have taken the liberty of creating one.

THIS is the place to post all your updates and discussions on '05 races around the country. From the Boston Mayoral Race to the fight for Virginia Attorney General, keep the adrenaline flowing here.

Will the GOP make a midterm gubernatorial comeback after suffering through the 2001 "mistakes" of McGreeley and Mark Warner? Will Ahnuld, the CA Dummycrats, or independent minded conservatives emerge triumph in California's latest (but not greatest!) "special election"? Will the liberal incumbent crush his equally liberal challenger in New York? And do conservatives even care?

Let's get the discussion rolling folks. You heard it here first!

Nothing wrong with Proposition 78.
It is the pharmaceutical companies' prescription drug plan... adopting it will save California from adoption a Proposition 79 type system sooner or later. It keeps control out of government hands.

I heard something like that though on the radio - perhaps it was l.g. or something.

Thanks for the report and also for including the precinct %.
I haven't gotten that page to refresh in quite a well.
Freepers must be slashdotting the heck out of it.

Guess it's time to hit the Dan Rather Roladex:

"This race is tight like a too-small bathing suit on a too-long ride home from the beach."

Sure it is. :-)

The biggest issues I have interest in here are lawsuits over medical malpractice, and the tax the Dems and our fradulent Governor pushed earlier in the year here in WA. Our polls don't close yet, so I'm interestedly following VA in particular. OH, also, when their polls close. Nice to see a lead, though it's still early.

I know the governor's race is the most critical, but the thought of Leslie Byrne as Lt. Governor makes me positively ill!

No problem... :-)

But do get to know the name George Allen. There's a decent chance he's your next President.

Red State reporting Kaine doing much better in Alexandria precincts than Kerry and Warner.

Bush beat Kerry by 9 points in Virginia but if Kaine is doing better than Warner who won by 4 points that is good news for Kaine. Also turnout was reportedly up 4 percent in northern virginia compared to the projections.

We have heard all along how Northern Virginia would go big for Kaine. Kilgore will have to have huge margins in rural and exurban areas to make it up.

In the midwest, that would be looking pretty good since rural counties take more time to get their votes in, and they're usually heavy GOP. I don't know what it means out east, though.

Woo hoo! Finally checking in at 6:48 PM CST time freepers.

Awesome, this has been my most successful thread yet and I haven't even posted on it since last midnight.

Any news on the San Diego Mayor's race? It's Surf shop owner Donna Frye (D) vs. retired San Diego Police Chief Jerry Sanders (R). Talk about strange choices for the Dem slate. Go Sanders!

Maybe they're going to the polling site listed on their sample ballot, unaware that placed inside their mailbox TODAY is a notice advising them that their polling site has changed to another, and, upon discovering said notice after they got home, rather than getting off their lazy ass and go to the new site and vote, they've decided to stay home, FReep and drink vodka with cranberry juice.<>

hic!
