Members of the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic livened up Cindy Sheehan's die-in at the White House tonight.
We started arriving at 6 p.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House. I arrived at 6:45, so others will have to fill in the early part. We had about a dozen or more scattered about in small groups engaging the anti-American leftists gathered to play extras in Cindy Sheehan's Traveling Freak Show of Treason and Tragedy.
Cindy's latest publicity gambit is to stage die-ins in front of the White House to 'observe' the 2000th death of American soldiers in Iraq. She and her handlers are holding daily vigils this week in front of the White House punctuated by photo-op visits to Arlington national Cemetery, the Iraqi Embassy and Walter Reed on successive days.
On Friday, she'll hold a press conference at the National Press Club.
This evening, we gave the leftists and their fellow travelers what for and an education. I spent considerable time addressing the leftists gathered on the sidewalk in front of the White House, informing them that they were standing with groups that support the terrorists killing Americans and Iraqis.
I asked them to raise their hands if they agreed with Cindy Sheehan that foreigners going to Iraq to join Al Qaeda were "freedom fighters." Surprisingly, no one raised their hands
Later, I asked them if any of them knew how many of the 2000 soldiers whose lives they were 'mourning' had been killed in action in Iraq. It took a long couple minutes of my asking the question several times before only two of the several hundred protesters came up with the answer (about 1560.)
I then asked, being that they say they care about the troops, how many were missing in action in Iraq. No one knew (one-Matt Maupin.)
I informed them that they are parroting the number 2000 without knowing anything about it.
Some of the exchanges with the leftists were quite heated. A couple that had a son killed in Iraq who came to stand with us took a lot of heat from the leftists. One was quite cruel--he told the woman to her face she would never be a grandmother because of her support for the war.
She started crying, but hung tough and stayed until we were ready to leave.
Our Iraqi friend, Nofel, got to speak with Cindy Sheehan early for a few minutes until her handlers dragged her away. He told her that her son lives on in the freedom of the Iraqi and American people. He also told her that her son helped give back to every Iraqi mother their children. That was too much for Cindy's minders.
IraqiKurd spent time talking with leftists trying to get them to understand how Iraqis truly feel about being liberated by American and the coalition. Nofel did so also, but it was a frustrating night dealing with the moonbats.
Mr. and Mrs. Trooprally saved the day by bringing signs and small American flags for us to hold. Jimmy Valentine's brother, LandryFan, Spiff and Dustin10thMountain all did their part tonight.
We left around 8:45. The die-in and the coreographed arrests were going on and on. The news reports only 22 leftists had the guts to be arrested. The rest who started out in the die-in chickened out and left to join their fellow leftists in the audience.
We kept reminding those pretending to be dead of what it was like to be killed by terrorists by describing various terror attacks from 9/11 to Beslan and what they would be going through as they died. We also reminded them of the manner of death for Iraqi opponents of Saddam's regime.
The die-in was total show biz. But with the media's help it'll be broadcast around the world to accomplish Cindy and her handler's goal: more real deaths of Americans and Iraqis at the hands of terrorists so that we turn tail and leave Iraq to the their terrorist allies.
Four legs good! Two legs better!
Four legs good! Two legs better!
Four legs good! Two legs better!
Thanks for the pings Tonk.
I don't know who all I'm missing in the DC Chapter...
Please extend my sincerest sympathies and deepest thanks to the parents whose hearts must have been ripped from their chests. Their courage to face this enemy dead-on, and your resolve to stand by them (and all of us), with each new report, increasingly leaves me more and more humbled and at a total loss for words.
Bless you all.
A couple that had a son killed in Iraq who came to stand with us took a lot of heat from the leftists. One was quite cruel--he told the woman to her face she would never be a grandmother because of her support for the war.
I overheard two women telling her she was a disgrace and that she must be happy her son was dead because she supported the war.
Told the lovely and beautiful Vivien Valentine about that chant as she was enjoying her cigarette and coffee. Her reply to me was that I'd do more harm than good. I had no rejoinder for that.
Thank you Kristinn on behalf of all FReepers that can't get to DC. We owe you BIG TIME!
Great job!
Might have been nice to have a large chipper-shredder on hand to demonstrate to them how Saddam treated protesters in HIS regime.
Fire it up, feed it a log or two...
I just visited your profile page. Just below the beautiful picture of an ocean of purple flowers is a history of Iwo Jima.
It is such a complete history of that event. Over 28 thousand Marines died at that battle.
Please let us never forget.
Never forget those who serve us today as well. thanks
Thanks for the very descriptive report, kristinn. Thanks for your work, too.
It sounds plausible but has been debunked over at www.swopes.com
I have heard that also. Supposedly from a local Vacaville source who lives near the Sheehans. Cindy left to "find herself" and just recently returned. According to this source, Casey didn't even call her "Mom" because she was so uninvolved in his upbringing.
It would all fit nicely, but I haven't seen it corroborated anywhere else.
Beatrice Salvidar, of Fort Worth, TX., confronts G.R. Quinn, of Bethesda, MD., at a rally to mark the 2,000th US death in Iraq, Washington D.C. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005. Salvidar lost her nephew in Iraq.
This guy part of your group?
Thank you for your hard work. Perhaps you got some leftie brains to acttually start working.
Enjoyed your interview on KSFO this morning. I'm sure it opened some eyes. Keep up the good work!
excellent poster
And to all y'all...
THANKS!
That skank - that is the only way you can describe this commie. She, of "kill Bush" fame. Hear she is being sued by CACI for her defamation of them as a DoD contractor. Hope they can put her off the air forever.
Thanks so much for all you do to counter the evil leftists. Remember we who live out of state are there in spirit with all of you who take the time and make the effort to speak out in public for us and for all our troops.
That's true...very true, but I sure feel for her kids.
Good point. The children of Iraq belong to their mothers. They are no longer objects to be shot, gassed, tortured or raped by Saddam and his sons. And remind the protesters next time about the Islamic paradise that used to be Afghanistan. In that wonderful and enchanting place, women were publicly whipped with steel chains, and the Taliban married 9 year old girls, and they lived in caves and sodomized small boys and goats. And now, in Afghanistan, the children belong to THEIR mothers too!
I am sorry that the couple who lost her son were abused by the SHEEHOLES. But God bless them for standing firm, and God bless you D.C. FREEPERS.
