The situation in New Orleans continues to deteriorate due to rising water levels and desperation. Search and rescue continues via boat and air. Authorities have announced the goal to evacuate all the remaining residents of NOLA. The New Orleans Mayor has reported numerous gas leaks throughout the city. Sporadic fires occurring. Attempts to evacuate hundreds of hospital patients from Charity Hospital and Tulane Medical Center are in process. Patients are being transported to other hospitals as far away as Florida.
The Army Corps of Engineers is at the NOLA levee breaks with current plans to drop 3000 lb sand bags in an effort to stop the flow of water. NOLA hospital evacuations continue for thousands of patients. Reports indicate all evacuees are being taken to the SuperDome, which is now surrounded by water. The generators at the Dome are now in jeopardy. The Governor of Louisiana has called for a day of prayer tomorrow...
Elsewhere, search and rescue continue in Mississippi and Alabama. Biloxi reports indicate catastrophic damage.

I'd make sure to use brass shells in that thing. Plastic ones might melt if you do rapid firing.
Yes, north of plaquemines. The highway to lower plaquemines parish is closed and probably flooded by the river. The farthest east parts of plaquemines will have their maps redrawn.
I found where they are asking people to not self-dispatch. I may stop by the Red Cross in my area or the Salvation Army and add myself to a list to help if I can.
Here in Detroit the Prices are all over the board. In Dearborn, the Mobil, BP and Speedway all had $3.19 a gallon for regular. This is a $.30 jump since last night.
In Detroit, a Mobil had regular for $2.79 still. But I guess that he hasn't gotten the word yet that its ok to gouge now...
I heard that but a cutting torch and a bank vault could be a prety big payday for someone.
Prices serve to ration and encourage conservation. If we are not sure when the next shipment is coming, or how much it is going to be when it comes, higher prices serve a purpose. If prices remain artificially low, this will simply lead to outages.

That female looter even bagged her stolen loot...is that a mop?....WTH does she plan to do with that!......she's gonna need a bigger mop than that!!
Well, uh, first they have to *find* a barge and then find something to move it with before they can really do anything about either.
Hey my sister just called and said gas jumped from last night...It was $2.69 last night...Today it's up to $3.50
I figured as the storm was coming in, given the tightness of our refining capacity, that the price of gas would reach $3.50-$4.00 a gallon within four weeks.
$2.65 Regular $2.59 Diesel
How do you guys rate? LOL Wish I had a small tanker truck to find gas cheaper somewhere.
REALLY?
dude, you need to get a kickback from Saiga's manufacturer - you just made them a sale
they have already busted a few stations in Suffolk County for doing such....its pure greed....
Do you know where they sent the college students?
It's called Bud Lite....
OK, I'll bite.
Sounds like the joke about Coors lite being like making love in a boat--
or -ing close to water...
Prayers for all!
So much for the evil Walmart.
Man, I have mixed feelings about Home Depot. It is one of my favorite stores. But I know sveral people who work there and it is almost like a sweat shop. Raises suck and they do not even get a discount.
I am glad they donated to the Salvation Army, but they should also take care of employees.
We have *lots* of empty space in Texas. We could set up a temporary tent city in several regions and inhale the entire affected population without too much of a problem (if the Feds and the rest of the country sends financial aid - we can't do it all ourselves).
Just heard Phil Keating on Fox say that they have pretty much given up on trying to stop the levee leak...that they just want to get the people out before the whole city is under water....
Curious, all of those people that looted those stores for TVs, and computers and guns and stuff....what are they gonna do with those...if they get on the buses out of town??
And, if they don't get on the buses...and stay...they will drown or starve or die of disease? Or, will our Coast Guard be called in to rescue snipers that tried to kill cops...and thieves that didn't want to leave their loot?
Just asking.....
