Just heard Phil Keating on Fox say that they have pretty much given up on trying to stop the levee leak...that they just want to get the people out before the whole city is under water....

Curious, all of those people that looted those stores for TVs, and computers and guns and stuff....what are they gonna do with those...if they get on the buses out of town??

And, if they don't get on the buses...and stay...they will drown or starve or die of disease? Or, will our Coast Guard be called in to rescue snipers that tried to kill cops...and thieves that didn't want to leave their loot?

Just asking.....

(from email)
Team PA,

Navy leadership is sincerely concerned for our Sailors and their family members in the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina. In light of the communication difficulties created by the hurricane, BUPERS has set up a 24 hour helpline for both Sailors and families to call for information regarding their loved ones.

The number is 1-877-414-5358

This line will be staffed 24 hours by active duty Navy volunteers and will have connectivity with Navy, FEMA and other government agencies. They will try their very best to answer questions regarding the status of Navy family members, but please be aware that communication in the region is still inconsistent.

I don't think they're going to leave. They'll stay and fight it out. They'll take over the town. Cops and firefighters will be afraid to go in. They'll burn the city down, eventually. Maybe it's just my active imagination, but I see dark times ahead in New Orleans. Sort of like "Escape From New York".

As I said in another response, stash it on the second floor of their rent-subisdized housing and return in a month to collect their valuables. Think anyone will ask for proof-of-purchase?

In the meantime they will be set loose on the good citizens of LA and TX.
