I don't mind brilliant people who are poor public speakers. It indicates hyperlexia. Hyperlexics are incapable of dishonesty, and very difficult to socially persuade.

If Clement gets on the Court and votes to uphold Roe, I will have to concede that the plan to vote Republican to stop abortion has failed. And that means I won't be voting Republican again. Just left a comment to that same effect on the White House comment line. Sounds just like Souter to me.

"LOL! Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter-- skinny blonde Republican lawyers whose brains weigh more than the rest of them. What great minds!! "
Add Monica Crowley to the mix. I still have fantasies of sitting in a hot tub with the 3 of them, drinking margaritas and sucking helium as we read from Al Frankens, "liars and the lying liars that tell them."

Yep. The hair on the back of his head only makes it look like a crazed badger is making love to his neck. I've never seen anything that strange on anyone who wasn't "of no fixed address."

9pm eastern...hmm, what is the television lineup tonight? What's being sidelined? I watch exactly one TV show each week, Second From Disaster on the natioanl Geographic Channel. It airs at 9:00 on Tuesdays.
Fortunately, tonight's episode is a rerun. And, yes, I'm sick in the head. :)

No way, the dems will totally go after him for his Spanish soap opera history. They'll even bring that Bumble-Bee guy in as a hostile character witness.

Could the Republican majority filibuster one of Bush's picks if they don't like it?

Judge Janice Rogers Brown was born and raised in the South as well, so I'm hoping for GRITS too.

I don't have a link, but Burdine is the famous "sleeping lawyer" case.

Bush will end up a bigger failure than his father if he breaks this promise and the Republican party will lose millions of votes.
And the RATS will gain control of the Senate in '06 just like they did in '84 after O'Conner's nomination. This means the moonbat "Downing Street Memo"-type hearings will move up from the basement right on to prime time TV. I just cannot believe this President would be so foolish with something so important.

Sessions is the ace-in-the-hole. He should be saved for when a liberal Justice retires.
To: Steven W.
There is no track record. She's a member of the Federalist Society and reportedly has stated Roe is settled law.
To: seamole
Change the republicans, or get help get a new conservative party going. There are so many middle of the road former democrat liberals deserting the sinking ship and joining the pubs these days that a new conservative party is needed. Then the a-rats can be consigned to the dust-bin of history.

By "damned" sure, I mean so sure that he is willing to risk eternal damnation if he's wrong. Good grief, who do you think you are that you can damn somebody to hell if they don't do what you think they should do?

Dunno about the second comment (I don't know Clement's stance on gay marriage), but the fact that the LeftStream Media is playing up Clement (and the "misspelling" was my attempt to match the reporterette's pronunciation in the joint presser with Australian PM John Howard) is extremely troubling.
