Call on Senator Durbin to Apologize
WASHINGTON – Freshman Senators Richard Burr – NC, Tom Coburn – OK, Jim DeMint – SC, Johnny Isakson – GA, Mel Martinez – FL, John Thune – SD and David Vitter – LA today issued the following statement in response to comments made by Senator Dick Durbin – IL on the Floor of the United States Senate comparing U.S. troops to Nazis, Soviets and others:
“As freshman Senators, we recently campaigned to change the tone in Washington and accomplish great things on behalf of the American people. We are united in our support for our troops in the ongoing War on Terror. We found Senator Durbin’s remarks to be highly offensive and dangerous. This rhetoric is harmful to our soldiers and emboldens our enemies. We call on Senator Durbin to issue an apology to the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces.
“The American Armed Forces are the best in the world and to compare them with Nazis, Soviet Gulags, or Pol Pot is outrageous. Millions of innocent people were murdered in death camps under these evil regimes.”

Good for you ..! At least they know there people out there who know what's really going on.

Members of Congress cannot run around impeaching and convicting each other. It goes against the seperation of powers clause and was ruled as much way back in 1796 or somehing when they tried to impeach Senator Blout.
The way a sitting Senator can be removed from office prior to his term expering is through EXPLUSION. Jim Trafficant, anyone?
Oh, I'm sure the great moderate 'peacemaker', McCain, will be Durbin's apologist.... Stay tuned, cause I bet Durbin will show up on a Sunday show and have a softball interview blaming the Republicans.

Why isn't Zell a Republican? He would make a good Vice President.
My present Congressman -- only time I ever hear from him is when he's running for re-election...then he sends out this thing that looks like an ongoing, frequently published "newsletter" -- but it isn't, because you never see this "newsletter" any other time. This thing sounds like one of those newsy holiday cards my ex-boss used to get -- you know what I mean -- the ones with the pics of the family and what everyone's been doing all year -- only this thing rehashes what the Congressman has done since the last election, which usually consists of him being on some boondoggle in an exotic locale at taxpayer expense.
Can't get rid of the guy -- I live in a heavily Dem area and he usually runs unopposed. I keep writing in my name, my cat's name...anyone but voting for him. But unless he dies, I don't think I'll ever get rid of him.
