Had the same reaction to author King and more recently to a book I enjoyed, but wherein the author slid in a couple of lines here and there anti-republican, conservative, whatever, a book called "paranoia', and since I will not be reading the author anymore (even tho this book was a terrific, ingenious thriller) I can't even remember his name. LOL

I'm checking in for the last big awards and yours was the first post I got to. This does NOT sound like a successful Oscar night.
And now Prince is up...

Why does Prince have a black towel on his head? And, why is he there?
To: Republic
A very touching and tear-inducing moment in a movie full of quiet humor.

You sound a little surprised at the bitterness expressed in this thtread.
Please keep in mind that as far as many posters are concerned, Hollywood spends 364 days out of the year crapping all over our country and it's traditional values...then expects us to believe the 20 seconds it spends applauding Ronald Reagan.

Thank you.
That's true, he would be, especially portraying Welles' younger years. The story though - that's a big if.

The Aramaic testaments are called "Peshita", a word that means, straight, true, unadorned. There are about 6 different versions of them extant, some are thought to date to around 90 AD.
I have a hardback copy of "Translation of the Syriac Testament" Murdock, 1851, which is the complete New Testament.
Signed by the author. It may be the only one in existence.

Does Prince realize he's wearing the same suit from 20 years ago ?
Did he arrivie in a little
red corvette?
To: RightWingAtheist
It was based on a novel that was loosely based on fact. I wouldn't blame Wilson and Foreman. ALL movies do that.
To: Clemenza
True, a conservative woman would be smarter and not as desperate or needy.

Do we view these folks as very detrimental to our society, or don't we? Some yes, some no. Lumping all of 'em into one "detrimental" category would be inaccurate. High quality films are still made, and they're one of our culture's treasures.
