As I have said before, Hannity is the Tommy Smothers of political talk-radio.

Well, you got almost EVERYTHING that you think you know about me,dead wrong! LOL

And from my posts,it is really easy to understand why I would have been a BIG fan of Bob Grant's when he was at his gruffest. :-)

I waited for years (sending a LOT of letters to my cable supplier) to get FNC.When we finally got it,I couldn't wait to watch O'Reilly, after reading endless posts about him on FR. After the first show,I couldn't believe that people here liked him.

I meant ATTRACT...sorry.

I've heard Savage only a few times and one of the times,he actually said that almost ALL of what he says is an act and that he doesn't mean a lot of what he says.Yes,he IS a fraud ! He often doesn't think before he speaks and it's apparent that his off the cuff babblings are childish and/or pathetic rants just to rant. He's a case of arrested development and any high schooler, drunk on his own words, could do the same routine easily! Savage is,at best, like some punk senior in prep school or freshman in college, three sheets to the wind, acting like an idiot, foaming at the mouth, and feeling as though he is "intelligent" because a grinning band of similarly drunk guys are nodding at him.

And no,everyone on radio or T.V. who is a talking head/host,doesn't have to be a blowhard, for the job. You need to find out just exactly what that word means. :-)

Mark Levin does NOT "just tell his audience what they already know",unless his entire audience is composed of superlative Constitutional scholars;which it isn't.

Sean has the most boring show on radio. It takes him so long to make a point, he mentally meanders around, doesn't listen to his callers...

I can remember several instances where he got brilliant callers making a really insightful point, and he just goes, 'yeah, well...' and starts talking about his next live appearance or some other irrelevant event.

He's got a lot of nerve throwing stones like this at conservatives. Talk about eating your own...

The ZOT became necessary as FR's popularity increased. We used to be able to handle trolls and jerks by out-lasting them on the threads, but there got to be so many hit-and-run posters it was getting distracting.

I don't remember when the first ZOT appeared, but I think it was within the past year. That might be a good Friday night thread -- "The Origin of ZOT."

An open letter to Sean Hannity

As soon as your show starts with your own talkng points instead of using Rush Limbaugh's, you dont have a talk show, all you have is yourself as a parrot.

Nice to know you. I am sure Clown Possee will be glad to have you.

I think Sean was wrong to talk the way he did about Free Republic. There are a lot of different opinions on a variety of subjects here, and that is what make it so interesting and informative. However,I have listened to Sean fight for the same things we fight for, maybe not the way we would like him to,but at least he does. Maybe I'm wrong,I don't know, I am just not ready to write him off.

Morton's in Chicago, very memorable, but I just had some Kobi beef right here in Missouri a few weeks ago. Excellent.

I've heard about Morton's, but in two trips to Chicago never got a chance to go there.

On the West Coast, the must-go place in my memory is the Hitching Post, recently made famous in the movie Sideways, but it's been an institution for something like 100 years in its original location in Casmalia. That's the HP I frequented, but it burned years ago. The one in the movie is in Solvang, never been to that one, but have heard it's just as good.

A Hitching Post steak is worth a 100-mile detour to me.

I'm sorry but I don't agree. Muslims don't get hit (verbally) any harder than they deserve for not separating themselves from the radicals.

Yes, I have seen this. I soured on Sean after his first book... he got just too shrill and cheeky. I despise the way he talks over guests, of either side of the isle. But to dump on FreeRepublic is a pretty stupid thing, really dumb. What can he gain from it?

He thought he'd get folks onto his site??? He's a wanna be. He dreamt of his site being as a busy as FR. It would have to be as interesting and full of insight as FR. No chance.

...I have no doubt about it.

Throw in the Hitlerytes in NYC among other areas.

Keep an eye out for new echo-residual booby-trap websites among the blogosphere which are designed to bait the Hitleryte-infiltrators into coming to nuance their Faux Conservativism/Populism/Nationalism pitch to death - much like we see here and other places already...and then trapping them and caging them digitally.

I'm sure Jim has reams of digital data that would be fascinating to study...;)

"Free Republic Open Border Lobbyist."

Me thinks Mr. Sinky was just a bit disingenuous in feigning ignorance as to the meaning of the acronym "FROBL".

Anyone who believes that liberals are sophisticated-in any sense of the term-needs to peruse the Charlie Rose and NYT message boards.

I've seen barnacles that exhibited more innate intelligence.

Rush has biting wit, he cracks me up with the things he says yet everything is within context of his topic. He never talks about rating, or books, and it is as if he cherishes every minute he can talk to us. Even when liberals call the show and challenge him he consoles them and tells them why they're wrong. Most of them must hang up the phone and feel like a jerk because before the phone conversation is over and Rush has already won the debate he treats them as he would treat you or I. This is a great man and I am proud to say I am a ditto head!
