And from my posts,it is really easy to understand why I would have been a BIG fan of Bob Grant's when he was at his gruffest. :-)
I waited for years (sending a LOT of letters to my cable supplier) to get FNC.When we finally got it,I couldn't wait to watch O'Reilly, after reading endless posts about him on FR. After the first show,I couldn't believe that people here liked him.
I meant ATTRACT...sorry.
I've heard Savage only a few times and one of the times,he actually said that almost ALL of what he says is an act and that he doesn't mean a lot of what he says.Yes,he IS a fraud ! He often doesn't think before he speaks and it's apparent that his off the cuff babblings are childish and/or pathetic rants just to rant. He's a case of arrested development and any high schooler, drunk on his own words, could do the same routine easily! Savage is,at best, like some punk senior in prep school or freshman in college, three sheets to the wind, acting like an idiot, foaming at the mouth, and feeling as though he is "intelligent" because a grinning band of similarly drunk guys are nodding at him.
And no,everyone on radio or T.V. who is a talking head/host,doesn't have to be a blowhard, for the job. You need to find out just exactly what that word means. :-)
Mark Levin does NOT "just tell his audience what they already know",unless his entire audience is composed of superlative Constitutional scholars;which it isn't.
I once saw O'Reilly boast that he doesn't research subjects before he does a show on them, i.e., if he has some author as a guest to discuss their book, he won't read it beforehand. Not just an ignorant blowhard, a gleefully ignorant one.
No way can any high schooler do what Savage does. Clearly he's not for everyone. As for Levin's audience, you're right. I'm probably giving them too much credit.
