Great post. Wonderful examples of the behavior. As a long-time poster/lurker, I have clearly seen a shift away from reasoned, lucid discussions. Anytime there is legitimate disagreement among good Conservatives, it seems to disintegrate into a slam session. Obviously I still visit and enjoy the articles, but I seldom post.

He went on and on about how generous and supporting Hannity is, and how important he is to the conservative movement. He also suggested that President Bush may not have carried Ohio if Hannity didn't spend so much time there.

Does anybody think that Hannity's road shows helped re-elect President Bush in Ohio or anywhere else? Because if you do, think about this. Anybody who went out to see Hannity was already going to vote for Bush. His road shows did not add one vote to the R column.

The local media on his stops always focused on controversy surrounding him, if they mentioned Hannity at all. And every dime that was spent on show tickets, books, t-shirts, etc. was a dime that was not donated to Bush-Cheney '04 or the RNC.

Hannity has set himself up as someone for the left to demonize. Unlike Rush & some others, Hannity does not offer any new information on his talk shows and he gives no real substantial critique of liberal ideas. But, even in the middle of the most important election campaign in American history, he provided a forum for liberals to come on and bash Bush. I don't think this is the first or last time Hannity has attacked a group of conservatives.

Right-Sean did a good job-and so did we and so did thousands of other people. Sean did not win this election.

Perhaps the Swift Boat Vets wouldn't have been taken so seriously if tons of freepers hadn't spent hours and hours getting their message out over and over again. And we wouldn't have had the message to spread if the Swifties had not done the hard work. There are so many people who busted their rumps during the campaign.

We won all together and shame on Sean for trying to divide us with his childish and self serving behavior and for giving talking points to the liberals.

There is? As far as I can tell, FreeRepublic is mostly decent, conservative people quite like (hopefully) Sean Hannity himself. Why he would say we've been taken over by the fringe, I have no idea.

I have wondered more than a little what part the puppet masters are going to call on them to play; force them to play or are already orchestrating their playing.
It wouldn't be too far fetched for them to be set up to suck conservatives in then lead them by the nose more into the puppet masters globalist camp!

As I would peak in on The Sean over the years, I noticed he was always a little more full of himself than the previous time, and more of an elitist hick, parasytical-GOP-drone who didn't pull it off nearly as well as Rush did/does.

How do you know that he wants his website to be the next FR? He didn't say that. Why not take what he said at face value? He said that he no longer comes here because some FReepers eat their own, and since he's been the target of that devouring, I don't blame him.

You guys have got to be less thin-skinned about his comments if you expect him to be less thin-skinned about yours. If you dish it out you've gotta be able to take it in return.

I'd have to use judgement and say this final comment is over the top.....even though Hannity's selection of words cuts at the true FR base as an attack...

Disclaimer - Hannity is not at the top of my list...I select a local radio host during the hours that Rush grants Hannity...besides...his hair makes me want to use thinning shears on my Pug.....
