Who should be FReeRepublic's "Man of the Year"????Nominations are open
Freepers | 11/16/04 | self

This was discussion on another thread as to who would get Time's prestigious Man of the Year award. It was suggested that John O'Neill should. It just seems unlikely that this will come to fruition. So who needs Time, anyhoo? Freeper tazannie suggested that we have our own "Man of the Year" awards and Jim gave his blessing to let the nominations begin!

I suggested that the winner be the guest of honor at the Freeper Ball. Wouldn't that be a blast?

Lazmataz & Alouette....Safety (valves) for continuous guffaws (that can be a football play, can't it?).
Michael Savage....Special Teams (gotta have one Madman covering punts & kickoffs)
Rush....Blitzing End (Continues to throw libs for a loss, OWNS the SACK record)

No biggie. It's just that I was on the board for about a day straight when the memo story broke, and I know TankerKC noticed there was something wrong with the memos three hours before Buckhead.

Thanks for alerting exeryone to TankerKC as the first to notice something.......I amend my nomination to both TankerKC & Buckhead!

I'd say at this point it's heavily favored for Buckhead, but maybe we need a FReeper election. Maybe JimRob could put it over by the sidebar where he conducts his "polls".

Any thoughts as to additional recognition for other notable FReepers?

P.S. I realize how difficult it is to choose from sooooo many outstanding people. Man, talk about a big drawing pool.

I said Buckhead and JimRob right off and then chimed in for the
Swiftboat Vets, too.

There are so many Freepers that do so much good stuff, the list
could be quite long actually, imho .....

John O’Neill and all the Swift Boat and Vietnam Vets. He/they not only brought down JFK, but exposed Ted Koppel, Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, the alphabet media, O’Reilly and so many others for their unbelievable bias. TankerKC, Buckhead, and Interesting Times (from what I read here) lifted a rock and there was slimey Dan Rather/CBS--they deserve recognition. Would Koppel or Rather have gone to the mat for Kerry had it not been for the Swifties?

Buckhead=Freeper of the year

John O'Neil Freeper Hero of the year.

I like fellow WV WVNan's idea to cover wording. FReeper Hero of the Year! & FReeper of the Year!

Hmm...

For a Freeper to be nominated, I say Buckhead right away

For a NON Freeper, John O'Neill sounds ok, too.

For an Activist who has done the most work, that should be a regional award, with Kristinn, Firebrand and Little Bill taking awards for their regions.

Doctor Raoul gets the lifetime Freeper Award. :)
Or at least the most travelled award.
