As I and many of my fellow expatriates are often hard pressed to get any non-biased information from the media (we are often stuck with CNN-International!!), I have decided to start this thread in the tradition of the Operation Iraqi Freedom Situation Room threads. I hope this meets with the approval of Jim & John and the Admin guys . . .
The purpose of this thread is to be a place to collect information from all sources into one area for discussion. Specific threads for specific topics and cross linking are highly encouraged.

My dad graduated from API in '49. I graduated at "the other place". I voted last Tuesday here in Cobb County for W. My parents will do the same in Montgomery today. I am still a huge Auburn fan. Go figure.

Report from Iowa:
I was in line 10 minutes before the polling place opened. (Voted Libertarian -- no Rep on the ballot for state representative.) When I was coming out, there I saw a MoveOn guy with a clipboard and a sign. So I called the police. I categorized it as a "potential" case of voter intimidation and didn't give the dispatcher the name on the sign until she asked. (I decided to be little mister citizen instead of rabid Republican attack dog.) She said this was reported by someone else at another polling place.
The guy was just outside of the polling place, so I'm sure he wasn't sanctioned by anybody.

Uh-Oh! I feel a spate of Candadian/American jokes coming on. Okay, I just can't resist so here goes:
A Canadian is just like an American except they drink stronger beer and smoke stinkier cigarettes.

My husband and I went to vote this morning. We got to the polling place at 6:35 and were WAY back in line. The funny part was, I thought there was going to be a fist fight!
We voted at a hotel, the people had formed a line that wound around the lobby, but a poll worker came out, just as we were getting in line and said everyone needed to form a straight line out the door. Well, the people who were caught more towards the center of the lobby that had been in line for a while started yelling that they weren't moving! They'd lose their place in line if they had to move! There was one woman finally walking out the door yelling "This is Bull****!" But everything finally calmed down, people lost their "place" in line and didn't die.
And I voted!
I have a lot of confidence today that W will win. And of all the ralliers I saw on corners, bridges, etc. I only saw one man waiving a Kerry sign.
Go W!

Morning Leni! Had to do a little lab work this morning....SO passed the "garage" coming and going. WIsh I could have stopped twice, but Indiana is very strick at the polls here. Light rain here..... there was an actual line at my voting place....Most people could wait inside the building. Turn out is high...partly because of property tax referendum....Don't know how that will play....for years the German farmers in the area voted "D"....Many have switched parties and are running on the "R" ticket, but who knows how many that will influence!
Many of our "D"s are more conservative than the Rinos that get elected.....Go figure!

Yes it was very clear he was relaxed and confident. I took that as a good sign. It really improved my soured mood.

Thanks for the weather channel update. Love to see lots of rain in Memphis and all over Ohio. Hopefully, after being so maligned for 4 years, the Bush supporters will endure a little rain to make a point. Dare we hope that those who aren't really that enthusiastic about Kerry will not bother?

People voting "for" Bush will stay in line. People voting against Bush will leave out of frustration. Keep calm, keep cool. If your employer makes a fuss, tell them you are excercising your right as a citizen.

Why have they got Wyoming blue? I can tell you this state is red all the way. Well we did elect a dem governor because he was clearly the best guy. But vote blue today, no way!
