Cheney told voters in Ohio Thursday that Kerry had called for a "more sensitive" war on terror and mocked that notion as something that won't impress the Sept. 11 terrorists of the Islamic militants who have beheaded U.S. citizens.
Edwards, returning to the campaign after a three-day break, took issue with Cheney's comments and his target Democratic presidential nominee Kerry, a decorated Vietnam War veteran.
"He took that word and distorted and tried to use it to argue John Kerry will not keep the American people safe," Edwards said. "He's talking about a man who still carries shrapnel in his body. He's talking about a man who spilled his blood for the United States of America."

I am not sure what all three purple hearts were for, but my impression is that none appeared to have left shrapnel in Kerry's body, nor was there any "spilled blood". Can anyone fill me in on the exact nature of the three purple hearts.

Today he's a war hero. Tomorrow his military service will be off limits. I try not to hate these people down to the pitch-like marrow of their yellowed bones. It's hard.

He tossed a grenade into a rice cache and forgot to get out of the way. He was peppered with rice and injured by his own doing.

Al-Qerry doesn't carry anything. He has servants for that, true?
The trick here is that WE avoid becoming his servants.

"He's talking about a man who still carries shrapnel in his body. He's talking about a man who spilled his blood for the United States of America."Well, there may have been a few spots on Kerry's ass from where the doctor had to dig the rice out.
Who's Edwards talking about? Who spilled blood?

Given his demonstrable record as a gigolo, I **do** believe you have a superfluous letter 'i' in the last word in your post.

Excuse me-blood spilled. His wounds were covered with band aides. He never spent a minute in a hospital. That first ouchie he got was covered with a band aide. Kerry was the one who put in for the Purple Heart after it was denied by the first doctor.

He can't be talking about Kerry.
We have no idea what Kerry is. All we know is what a lying politician would say to get elected.
I'd like some proof Kerry was a hero, please. Otherwise, I don't believe a word he says. Why should I? Why should anyone?

To bad Julia Child died yesterday.
She could have cooked Kerrys butt into a nice rice pudding.

"He's talking about a man who still carries shrapnel in his body. He's talking about a man who spilled his blood for the United States of America."This is an insult to men like my father, whose bodies were peppered with shrapnel - my father, whose entire life was shadowed by the threat of paralysis from shrapnel being lodged so close to his spine.
Somebody please explain to Senator Edwards the difference between shrapnel all over your body and rice up your ass.
