O'Neill was wonderful. I had never heard that Kerry's boat actually fled and the only one that fled when the other swiftboat was blown up. He came back after the enemy fired ended and scooped up Rassman from the water. The other boats maintained position throughout and rescued the other 3 from the water. Probably none of them put in for medals for it/
One thing ONeill said is that Kerry went to Sec Navy Lehman 14 years after the incident and had him rewrite the citation for his silvcr star..I find that very illuminating..
