Why should Governor Walker quit if he is ahead of Senator Cruz in delegate count after SC primary?
Why should the Senator Cruz quit if he is ahead of the Governor in delegate count after SC primary?
The logical and fair thing to happen would be whoever is winning more delegates should stay in, and the other drop out. By the SC primary is over it will be abundantly clear who is connecting with voters, senator Cruz or Governor Walker.
I like both of them. But I will support whoever is connecting with voters, not by who is more popular on FR.
The national voter pool is 10,000 times larger than FR members.
Yeah -- except that Cruz has already declared his intentions. Cutting to the chase. Getting to the point. GOING FOR IT.
Meanwhile, Walker is pussy-footing around.
If Walker had declared first, then you'd be perfectly correct in saying that Cruz's entry to the race would hurt Walker.
Cruz means business. He SAID SO by entering early and straightforwardly. I think that already makes him better than Walker.
The nominee will get the endorsement of the otherthats a guarantee.
Fat lotta good that'll do by the time it comes around and the functional-Democrat moderate Republican has the advantage. The primaries are already a stacked deck for that. The ONLY way to beat that stacked deck is to UNITE NOW and rob it of at least some of its power in splitting the vote.
Are you going to sit it out if Walker wins?
I believe that sitting out an election is a dereliction of duty if one is politically informed, but a DUTY if one is ignorant of politics. So I have a duty to vote, and will vote. But if Walker talks about repairing Obamacare or replacing it with something "better," if Walker talks about saving the "good" parts of Common Core, if Walker demonstrates that he just wants to do government differently than Democrats rather than stating plainly that he aims to REDUCE government, if Walker thinks it's okay for government to punish Christians when they discriminate peacefully and civilly against open homosexuals in their business, civic, and personal circles -- then my vote will be going third party.
Do you know why?
Because I am ONLY willing to vote for what I want to win. It is the only thing I am accountable for. The people who vote for government tyranny are accountable for it -- and I voted for it plenty over the years by voting for Any Republican on the sole rationale of voting "against" Democrats.
Cruz is a shining light, a gift.
Walker entering now can only work to lessen it.
... including Democrat voters in open primaries. The way you have it, MOST OF US won't have any say at all whether it's Walker or Cruz -- "the logical thing to happen" is for it to be decided by the SC primary, by a minority of Republicans and cross-over Democrats in open primaries.
WHEN are you going to tell the GOP to shove that? Things like this are why I down-deep wish Cruz would just announce he's running third party NOW and to hell with the GOP and this crap.
... , not by who is more popular on FR. The national voter pool is 10,000 times larger than FR members.
Yeah? Well, guess what! FR's real pool made it pretty clear in 2012 that they were going to reject Romney. I thought like you did then -- that they only represented a minority of conservatives, Republicans, and independents in America.
I was wrong then (the majority of voters were like FReepers and refused to vote for somebody against their own interests, so Obama won by default), and you are wrong now.
I understand. We want the best strategy and best candidate to win.
It’s going to take a Miracle Worker to even begin to undo the disaster of the Community Organizer.
How likely is Cruz to be nominated when Walker is competing for his votes?
Neither Walker NOR Cruz is likely to be nominated because there isn't enough room in the primary race for both of them. The primaries are a stacked deck against conservatives to begin with. How in hell do you think McCain and Romney got nominated?
Ping to J Noble
It would have taken an equal Miracle Worker to begin to undo the disaster that a full-blown pro-gay pro nationalized health care pro-global-warming Republican president would have brought, as well
So the REALITY is that we'd need a Miracle Worker either way.
No, you are wrong. Romney lost because of the stupid 47% comment. Obama/Rats have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams in creating 50 million dependent on food stamps, 97 million working age adults without jobs, 50 million in poverty. Who do you think all those depending on handouts are going to vote for? A rich guy talking down the 47%?
Also Romney was a poor debater and got bamboozled by Candy+Barak in the debate. Have you forgotten?
Hillary has a much easier path to victory in 2016 with all those millions of dependent class.
Watch Fox News with the question: “which candidate are they pushing?” in mind.
The agenda is pretty obvious.
Makes sense.
I think it will be difficult to get the voters to unite, though, depending on how the debates go. If Walker or Cruz does a Rick Perry, that would make it easier. It would be best if one of them would bow out gracefully and endorse the other. Which would be harder to do if the campaign gets nasty, as they typically do. (It would be easier if one would offer the other a VP spot.)
You are dreaming, you are in fantasy-land, if you think Romney's performance in the debate swayed the typical American-voter-who-gives-a-damn. Have I forgotten? Why would a person interested in a politician dedicated to reducing government, care about how a government pushing functional Democrat performs in a debate? Very few American voters watch the debates. All they want is to vote for a politician who represents their general political philosophy, and in 2012, both the R and the D had virtually the same philosophy. A large number of Americans PERCEIVED that, so they stayed home. That, with the long-imbedded systemic vote ginning/fraud/manipulative tactics of the left, ensured the MINORITY leftist wins.
You fear something that is a wimp. The "dependent class" don't give a damn enough to vote, most of them!
Anyway, YOU can vote for Republicans who grow government if you want. When you get what you voted for -- Republicans pushing nationalized health care, the environmentalist agenda, gay marriage, etc. -- remember to take responsibility for it.
You're responsible for what you vote for.
The candidate who will shrink the most is actually not at top of my list. That would be Senator Rand Paul. But I am going with a the man who has a PROVEN RECORD of cutting spending, reducing taxes and INCREASING PRIVATE sector jobs. That would be governor Walker. He knows how to work with the legislature. he has been doing it for 4 years. Senator Cruz has a very good agenda. He is an excellent debater. He is very intelligent, far more than GWB, Bush41 or Reagan, the last 3 republicans. Only reason he is 2nd on my preference list is he has not proven 2 things to me. First, does he have ability to work with congress. So far that record is not encouraging. And second, can he connect with voters and get more votes than Governor Walker in the first 6 primaries in IA, NH, CO, UT, NV & SC. If he beats out the Governor in those 6 primaries, he will move to top of my preference list.
As to what caused Romney to lose, I have not talked to all the voters who actually voted for Obama, so I will know the exact reason. And neither will you. We can only conjecture.
