Prayer to the Mother of the Lord for all mothers
Mary, on this day when we honor all mothers, we turn to you. We thank the Lord whom you serve for the great gift of motherhood. Never has it been known that anyone who sought your intercession was left unaided by grace. Dear Mother, thank you for your "Yes" to the invitation of the angel which brought heaven to earth and changed human history. You opened yourself to God's word and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.
Dear mother, intercede for all of our mothers. Ask your Divine Son to give them the grace of surrendered love so that they could join with you in giving their own "Fiat." May they find daily strength to say yes to the call to the sacrificial love- the very heart of the vocation of motherhood. May their love and witness be a source of great inspiration for all of us called to follow your Son.
On this Mothers day, Mother of the Word Incarnate, pray for us who have recourse to you...
In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The Will of God runs Heaven. The angels & saints are in conformity with the Will of God.
Blessed be God in his angels and saints. God lives in the hearts of his saints.
Do not think that Catholics worship Mary. We worship the Triune God and no other gods before Him.
We only venerate Mary.
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal
The idols of Mary, the kneeling before these idols and praying to the image it represents, the candles lit in her honor, the prayers to Mary, etc, etc, etc....all say the Roman catholic worships Mary.
Hahn has to read back into the Scriptures to "find" Mary in the OT. That's called eisegesis....reading into the text something that isn't there.
Not according to some Roman Catholic writers.
Lol. It says veneration.Don’t take my word for it. Look it up. But don’t keep saying same thing based on ignorance.
No...the Greek translation should be rendered, "Greetings, favored one."
For Rome to be correct on this a number of verses have to be negated which notes all created beings are sinners.
Agree. That wasn’t very Christian of me. Apologies.
LOL....Rome has redefined what worship is in order to “justify” their idolatry.
Because I can pray directly to Jesus?
I always thought those were votive candles ...
“there is evidence that lit candles or oil lamps were burned at the tombs of saints, particularly martyrs, by the 200s”
I can’t say I understand votive candles, but I see nothing wrong with them. They’re optional.
Either way....still an act of worship of Mary.
Better to worship Mary in an excess of devotion, than to debase her.
Better to worship the Creator....not the created. You avoid idolatry that way.
The body of Christ is nothing without the head, who gives it life.
How can we love the Head without loving the body?
We love the body of Christ
1 John 4:20
28 And he came to her and said, Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you. NRSVCE
Even this RC approved translation gets it correct.
However, for the Immaculate Conception to be correct the following verses have to be negated:
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23
What then? Are we any better? Not at all. For we have already made the charge that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin. Romans 3:9
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8
Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am cleansed from my sin"? Proverbs 20:9
Surely there is no righteous man on earth who does good and never sins. Ecclesiastes 7:20
Do not bring Your servant into judgment, for no one alive is righteous before You. Psalm 143:2
When they sin against You--for there is no one who does not sin--and You become angry with them and deliver them to an enemy who takes them as captives to his own land, whether far or near, 1 Kings 8:46
If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near; 2 Chronicles 6:36
*****
The Bible only records one person Who was without sin:
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 1 Corinthians 5:21

How can we love the Head without loving the body?
We love the body of Christ
1 John 4:20
Some context around the verse you're citing:
15Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. 19We love, because He first loved us. 20If someone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.
