Yes. The Pope is imposing a Spanish mistranslation on the Greek, reflecting his cultural bias. The Greek εἰσενέγκῃς from the root εἰσφέρω is correctly translated as "lead", and in no way, shape, or form should be translated "abandoned".

There have been Greek scholars in the house since the First Century. There is one holy catholic and apostolic Church. The gates of hell will not prevail against it.

"Do not abandon us.." is very awkward (perhaps not so in Italian). How about "Save us from temptation and deliver us from evil"?

“Peace to people with whom he is pleased”, although crypto-Calvinist, is closer to the mark.
