I’ve been in many arguments with “Christians” who believe that you don’t have to be repentant to be redeemed, i.e. that practicing homosexuals who have no intention of stopping can be saved.
What about molestor priests? Have they also been told the same thing?
Sample a good guy. He ran one out of the country and another is in jail. Our diocese is clean, at least it that regard.
Yes, absolutely, they have.
What about the gay sex drugs orgy near Vatican last week!

Well, that's refreshing, coming from the US Roman Catholic hierarchy. Refreshing that they're actually acknowledging this behavior as a sin for one, but the real stunner is a Roman Catholic speaking of repentance and a change of heart, rather than the mechanical, physical penance. I guess repeating some words over and over, fingering beads and, heck, I don't know, donning a chicken suit and running around the courthouse square a hundred times isn't sufficient.
As I said, quite refreshing. There is hope.
Serious sins, vomitously disgusting as well.

I just cannot stand this stuff anymore, the constant barrage of intrusion and indoctrination. I watched a movie last night, a stupid, animated KIDS movie called "Storks". I had no idea.
They showed a montage at the end of parents getting their new babies from the Storks, and they were very quick flashes on the screen, when I did a double take...backed it up frame by frame, and saw these two images just squeezed in there, so fast if you blinked, you would have missed them:
I couldn't believe it. A kids movie. A little kids movie. So I guess when I saw this thread, I felt a bit like the nail that sees everything as a hammer...
Anyway, nice to hear someone stand against it.
Would it be fair to say that you haven't actually read much real Catholic devotional literature? You might try starting with "Story of a Soul" by St. Therese of Lisieux and the "Imitation of Christ" by Thomas a Kempis.
Careful there, your ignorance is showing.
I’ve witnessed enough threads on this topic over the years to understand the Roman Catholic layman’s understanding of penance vs. the Protestant understanding of repentance to know that this statement is noteworthy, Campion. You likely do, too.
Why, then, are the Catholic Bibles translated “do penance” rather than “repent” as is the case in the King James Bible and every other so-called “Protestant” Bible?
And, I suspect, you could examine many more children’s movies and find such subliminal messages. These evil monsters have been working on this agenda for a long time.
That's simply not true.
Go to this "Bible Gateway" search for "repent" in the "Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition" of the Bible, and you will find it returns 115 instances of the word "repent", with roughly half in the Old Testament, and half in the New Testament.
(The "Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition" of the Bible is likely the most widely used English version of the Bible by Catholics today.)
Now, do likewise in the Douay-Rheims which has been so heavily touted by RC partisans here on Free Republic.
What does it say?
“Do penance.”
Agree...nice to hear someone stand against this sin.
Thanks for the warning on that animated (aka targeting kids) movie, “Storks”. I cannot stand this evil agenda being pushed at our kids, nonstop.
