He cited an online post he had seen from a 17-year-old gay Catholic. "The church has a lot to say about what I'm not supposed to do," the youth wrote. "But ... I couldn't find any church document (about) what a gay person is supposed to do with his life. I feel abandoned by the church."
He said the church teaches much about the beauty of marriage, but then tells its gay members they "can't have this wonderful thing."

Time to reconsider his faith.
People, especially homosexual people, need to get this straight:
It’s God who says marriage is between a man and a woman. Homosexual behavior is an abomination to God.
This is not some whimsical opinion by the Catholic Church, straight men and women, or any other entities.
Frankly, it’s out of our hands.
“17-year-old gay Catholic...”
Is that similar to a round square?
Sure they can.
All they have to do is abandon their perversion and seek the company of a woman.
“can’t have this wonderful thing.”
If there is not a man and a woman involved then you don’t have it anyway.
...and find a denomination that will encourage him in his perversion?
The Episcopal Church is right down the street!
its a plant in the audience; most likely an actor getting paid for his time...
Gotta give the queers credit. They are very determined to shove their queerness in our faces.
The perversion often does not appear of just itself. It’s part of a larger distortion of love.
Before he can learn how to be a partner he needs to learn how to be a man, and that in turn requires learning the love of God.
Not too many modern Christian followings are very good at this. And the fault isn’t the Christianity, or maybe it should be said the fault is the lack of it.
No, one in which Christ manifests strongly enough to teach him the love of God which will make him even better than ordinary straight.
Now there's one dysfunctional family.
Marriage is a biblical concept defined by God in his creation. Government may grant a civil union, but government can’t change God’s definition or force God to accept something. Blaming the church for God’s own word or believing the world’s definition trumps God’s own word is devoid of logic. I pray that the young man in this story realizes what truth is. He might find a “priest” that would agree, but neither of them would be right.
I don’t recall reading anything about homosexual families in the bible.
Pope Benedict, the "Panzer Pope," nailed it when he said (paraphrasing) that the worst problem of this time is RELATIVE MORALITY.
People have so lost their way that they talk themselves into believing that wrong is right. GONE are all the traditional absolutes.
Of course the Catholic Church is anathema to those folks. The Church is the "home," so to speak, of moral absolutes.
“...Gay members they “can’t have this wonderful thing.”
You can—with a woman.
There are plenty of those. Some Protestant denominations allow same sex marriage...and will perform the ceremony.
Someday, there will be H-E-Double Hockey Sticks to pay for those perverts...and those who aided, abetted, allowed and said "yea and amen" to those perversions.
