Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |
Only in the warmups. Not in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I've witnessed a few 4 OT marathons.

Jesus kept its huge index finger pointed up and balanced his hot dog on his lap.
A Hebrew National, presumably. ;o)
Good one! :o)
John 14
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Deuteronomy 18 (JPS)
(20) But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.'
(21) And if thou say in thy heart: 'How shall we know the word which YHWH hath not spoken?'
(22) When a prophet speaketh in the name of YHWH, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which YHWH hath not spoken; the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him.
Ever ask for anything in Yehoshua's name and not get it? Ever explain it away as it not being YHWH's will, or that it must be YHWH's will was different than yours?
John 14

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
There are no disclaimers, no if's or maybe's, no conditions. Yehoshua explicitly says he 'will do it'. So, when you ask in his name and he doesn't follow through with his promise...
Deuteronomy 18 (JPS)

Thought I'd poke my head in and see if the thread was still here. ;o)
I don't remember what I is.
You is a Catholic. I thought we settled this some time ago. ;o)
Oh sure. Go and say it so much more efficiently and make me look slow. Thanks.
Hey Mom! We're expecting number 4 this August. Care to pep me up with one of those "four is really no harder than three... three was the BIG change" kinda stories?
Is this a "sign"? ;o)
Not really. Heretics would just like to think it is. To assume otherwise is to say there is no absolute standard of Truth.
R7's #1823: i think if you look around the OLD Fr religion forum, you will find it IS THE CALVINISTS that have the most passion for the Gospel and are the least likely to compromise it. Look and see how often the "arminians" have allowed an opportunity to present the gospel pass, when the calvinist did it instead . All your post shows is that you do not understand Calvinism and the passion for the gospel it gives. The "free will " people on this thread should be hanging their collective heads in shame. You chased off the calvinists as somehow "dangerous" to the precious thread and cheered when we went . Then you all went about the business of talking cars and movies and making fellowship with darkness contrary to the gospel . So am I surprised that you have lost more Christians than you have converted...nope not one bit. The problem is that you all thought that playing nice and friendship would convert. That is not what the gospel says ...but for some reason Arminians never give up hope that their personalities or their walk will save .
You will pardon me if I set aside my general silence on these subjects and respond to a number of recent posts from you guys.
(I have been absent from this thread for a rather long time.)
I do exhort you to avoid the "I lifted me" talk, sometimes exalting yourselves and running down others, sometimes keeping score (yourselves always in the lead), sometimes presuming to have the mind of Christ regarding who is chosen unto eternal life (always yourselves) and who is cut off (always the other guy), setting yourselves up as judges in that regard.
Romans 3:27a Where is boasting then? It is excluded.Jesus has called you to meekness and humility, and you need to set a good example in that regard, and confine yourselves to humble, meek, and reverent exhortation. (1 Peter 3:15)
Judgment Day has not yet come, and when it comes, it will be the Lord's day, and there will surely be many surprises for you then, based on the way you think now.
Pray for the gift of discernment. There are true Christians in your midst whom you do not discern.
You use allegiance to non-scriptural creeds to attempt to "cut off" the supposedly "unsaved". That is a gross misuse. Where is your oft-quoted sola scriptura, sola fide, and sola gratia, when creeds are the standard to judge men by, when salvation comes by allegiance to doctrines of men?
Creeds do not save. There is no salvation in creeds.
Jesus saves.
You have my testimony of Jesus Christ, our Lord, our Savior, our Redeemer, who sits in eternal glory in the place of honor at the right hand of God the Father, who will come again in the clouds of heaven as the ancient apostles saw Him go.
You have my testimony of true and living prophets and apostles whom He has sent in our day, and of His Restored Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The Holy Spirit bears witness, and I bear witness, and that is what you may assume as I resume my silence.
Your brother in Christ,
WM
Oh, okay then. But I didn't expect you to concede so quickly. ;o)
Thanks for your help. :-)
I think if more people ate Hebrew Nationals, they'd be cheaper. But the whole "7 to a package" is odd.

Yep , but you would not like the answer...God hates those that He sends to hell, so your question remains irrevelent as to who was saved at the cross.
The fact is that God is so holy and righteous that He hates the sinner (Psalm 5:5; Lev. 20:23; Prov. 6:16-19; Hos. 9:15).
"You are not a god who delights in evil; no wicked person finds refuge with you; the arrogant cannot stand before you. You [God] hate all who do evil;" [Ps. 5:4-5]
"Into your hands I commend my spirit; you will redeem me, LORD, faithfulGod. You hate those who serve worthless idols, but I trust in the LORD." [Ps. 31:5-6]
Considering that christians are a break away group from the Jews, that would make the christians the heretics and apostate. ;)
For an intervention? ;-)
The after-work pub just re-opened in December after being closed for over a year. I've only been in the new place 2 or 3 times.
Or did you mean the "Friday night after football game" pub on my walk home from the stadium?
What, exactly, were you eating before bed? Seder leftovers? Are you sure about the pedigree of those "bitter herbs"?

Denying Christ
One for each day of the week? ;)
Actually, I'm finding more and more kosher foods at our local grocery store. So, I think more will be buying and hopefully that will bring the prices down.
Isn't that what Dean said when asked about his treatment of President Bush?
