well, as you know the Bible tells us that to determine if a prophet is a false prophet see if his prophecies come true. See if what he is saying is true. So Jesus says that unless you are born again that you will not enter the kingdom of God. He says that He is the Messiah. He says that he is going to die for the sins of the world. You dont believe He is these things, so then how, in your eyes, can He be a prophet if all these things are wrong?

John 14
13   And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14   If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Deuteronomy 18 (JPS)
(20) But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.'
(21) And if thou say in thy heart: 'How shall we know the word which YHWH hath not spoken?'
(22) When a prophet speaketh in the name of YHWH, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which YHWH hath not spoken; the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Ever ask for anything in Yehoshua's name and not get it? Ever explain it away as it not being YHWH's will, or that it must be YHWH's will was different than yours?

John 14
13   And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14   If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

There are no disclaimers, no if's or maybe's, no conditions. Yehoshua explicitly says he 'will do it'. So, when you ask in his name and he doesn't follow through with his promise...

Deuteronomy 18 (JPS)

First I will answer your question.

"Ever ask for anything in Yehoshua's name and not get it"

There are many things I have asked for and not received and I am thankful for that. Would your father ever give you anything you asked for even if it was bad for you? If your 8 year old son asked to drive the car, would you give him the keys? I am thankful that there are things I ask for in my pride and ignorance that He never gave me, and I dont see that as going against His promise.

Now, I see you did not answer the questions I gave you, but I can imply by the question you gave me that you believe Jesus to be a false prophet. So is He a false prophet or a true prophet of God?

Your #2404: There are no disclaimers, no if's or maybe's, no conditions. Yehoshua explicitly says he 'will do it'. So, when you ask in his name and he doesn't follow through with his promise...

There are also no deadlines.

Proverbs 10:24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

When will our righteous desires be granted? In the Lord's own due time (whether in time or eternity), and in His own way, and according to His own will.

In other words, right now if it is expedient, later if we need to have some other learning experiences right now. Many things, such as a desire to rest from our labors, to be saved and redeemed and live with God forever in perfect peace in His heavenly Kingdom, come later (assuming of course that we follow the path that leads to it, see Matthew 7:14).
